  2. Indeed:
Many nutty posts have gone up over the years participating in the Jack indigestion.

What should be said about John Merchant's is that he always has kept up the fight for sanity on this board. In his many posts, he has come over as an extremely resourceful and superbly talented writer.

    nononsense

  3. To all those who DON'T have me on ignore (thank you, NN), I am merely temporizing until the Sunday matinee Jack serial starts. Then we'll see who is serious here. Trading systems can be TESTED. IF they have rules, that is. Ignore works both ways. Pushing the ignore button makes you an ignore-amus.

Hmmm? He can't have ALL of my aliases on ignore. Hell, even I can't remember them all. Stay tuned.

  4. "I have the resources, know how, and energy to do it single handedly." I am so pleased that Mako is so smart. The BB program is free. Hosting costs $9.95 a month. Setup is prompted. A man of vast resources indeed.

  5. John, ETLURKER and Spydertrader have models of parts of Jacks methodology coded up and working . Both are successful. What’s wrong with yours? Spyder has a few hundred people on board and is posting his success. Post your codes and maybe someone will be kind enough to help you out. You may be suffering from a condition called Jackitis which is causing your delusions. You like to read, read Danto’s philosophy of the symmetry of history. Start with the dailies, and stop whining like a girl

  7. Steve. I have no beef with the swingtrading stock method. But the intraday method is soy protein.

  8. So what your saying? You have a complete understanding of Jacks intraday method and tested it and it doesn’t work or are you saying based upon the understanding you have it doesn’t work. Also, I think you know you can’t prove a negative. Or you could say based upon the credibility you have gained as a fantastic trader that this is your opinion. One thing you also probably know is that beliefs and knowledge are not the same, and where this takes you is don’t believe what you think!

  9. Wow! After reading that list of what I MIGHT think, I can't remember what I DO think. I read all of Jack's posts on the intraday method. I printed all the posts which weren't rambling self-aggrandizing ego self-massages (that cut down on the printing considerably). I parsed them. I annotated them. I orgasmized them.

I assembled from his often obscure descriptions the best explications of the component methods which I could. I decided based on experience which ones could be tested. I converted them to algorithms. In most cases I had to select decision thresholds that he didn't specify. I tested those. I got pissed that they didn't work.

Then I said, is there a core of value here I am missing? Some simplifications of that godawful mess that might work? And I found a few. So as I have said many times, the study of Jack is heuristic.

I make much more money working than I could trading with my ultra-conservative risk rules applied to my liquid net worth, so I only trade between gigs. But I keep my codes tuned up and develop improvements at night. So you may be able to understand why I so eagerly await Jack's promised orderly detailed explanation of his methods.

It is one thing to post a chart after the fact and say, "See what you should have done?". It is quite another to furnish a procedural description so detailed that you can write an unambiguous algorithm from it.

Of course it may be that his method is really essentially discretionary, or is so complex that only a genius can trade it, or even, in the spirit of NLP, that Jack himself doesn't know exactly how he trades. In any of those cases my criticism is irrelevant.

Was that nice enough for you? I may be a snot but I am not stupid. I can read. And I can read what others here have done with what they read. Remember Nwbprop and associates? And the B-Team isn't stupid, either. There is a large volume of polite criticism from B-Teamers much smarter and more experienced than I am. Mike.

  10. Traversals on AM leg of this arguably "M" day were pretty clean. Midday was messy for me. Wasn't focused and hit a few gotcha points. Leg 3, just look. Leg 4, my right said Lateral, my left said FTP. Leg 5 made sense after believing the left FTP and nailing the vol spike 10 seconds into the 5 miin bar.... As you can see, my annotation took me out 25 mins earlier than the EOD. So I won less... Anyone else care to share there trendlines??? I also slipped in the vol stuff to better improve my awareness of price volume combos... Definitely interesting.... I prob should slip in the traversals I gunned for within the parralel trendlines.
