I believe that sports before trading only interferes with trading. Since it gives too much activity. And in trading, you need peace of mind. So it's best to learn a good relaxing meditation.
Actually, a good workout does clear the mind...but daytrading is a different animal entirely...not sure if it will improve cognitive functions associated with that endeavor.
This will not help most day traders because they have negative EV and figure to lose if they perfectly apply their methodologies Though I am in favor of regular exercise for most everyone.
I think that I have heard about such things and I really understand why it can be a good idea to do so. It is always useful to switch from mental to physical activities. Our brains need to have different sorts of task in order to be flexible and make the right decisions. As for these concrete exercises, it is surely not obligatory to run, you can substitute it with some other exercises that you like more, be it soccer or push-ups or something else. More than that, when you are thinking on the same subject for too long, your brain becomes less efficient because you need to switch your attention and make it wider. Especially it becomes vivid when you cannot solve the problem for quite a long time. However, when you stop thinking about it, the right decision comes to you by itself. To cut a long story short, your brain needs some rest and it is not a good idea to spend all day long before the computer screen.
Hahaha, that's funny, wow, because I feel the same exact way, on both throwing stuff out and rearranging the furniture!
I seriously don't want to be tired while I am trading , although I prefer attending a half hour yoga session to clear my mind before I sit at my desk and start trading.
