do Jan-31 and Feb-28 Expr SPY options exist?

with IB i see march-31 ones but not the previous months. are there only quarterly end-of-month index/etf options? why is that?

 

There are end of month options on the ES future.

These ETFs have quaterly end of month options. DIA , SPY, IWM, QQQQ, and XLE. I would be interested to know if there are more end of month expiry options. Thanks

 

SPX, XSP, XEO, RUT for starters... maybe NDX (not sure and too lazy to check)

 

I'm pretty sure there are only quarterly end of the month options.

These options were specifically created to make it easier to match up your hedges to the end of the quarter, which is usually the reporting period for institutional investors. So essentially there's no need for other months.
