I had a 104 fever at Christmas and it was weird, nine days ill. 1. Headache. 2. Raging fever for three days (104 on acetaminophen twice). 3. Lost a large dog of body weight from diarrhoea after this for two days. I never get this with flu. 4. Then the runny nose started, it was perfectly dry until then. This was really odd. 5. Chest infection, really bad green then reddish with blood. Went to the doc at this stage and had a TB test, three days of samples and negative. Treated for mild pneumonia. It felt like a backwards flu but not really a flu at all. Whatever it was, it was going around South America in December/Jan.
I had a physical in 1988 at the conagency in Barranquilla and the doc is like “WTF, you have a rash and a fever of 104!” It was Scarlet Fever. I was on the job the entire week, prior. You ppl are pussies.
Hmm, I did get a spotty rash on my face, thought it was the new shampoo or something. Interesting, Scarlett fever was not a thing where I grew up. Colombians do think Americans are pussies. Rightly so.
UC Davis is treating one of the cases, Travis AFB has a bunch Quarantined.. Stay the hell out of Sac.
I got dengue once in Panama... most effective unintentional diet I ever been on. Kicked the shit out of me.
