Your best women traders are seasoned Bull Dykes. I saw one in a Chicago commodity office in the seventies beat up a hapless margin clerk who sold her out of her long soybean oil position over a $642.00 margin call only to have it go up the limit in late session trade. She proceeded to throw a reception area chair through a plate glass window followed by the firm's coffee machine moments later. Thank God no one was killed on the ground 23 floors below as the debris landed on one of the Board of Trades lower floor setbacks! The partners were so impressed they fronted her a seat and put her in the Corn Pit three weeks later.
I actually saw many incidences like this around the Merc and Bot during the 60's and 70's(not all from women however). In the late sixties I worked with a group of Belly and Cattle traders, and the owner of the firm would pimp us to get out of his bad positions on the close. One day he called up to the office around ten minutes to the Belly close and barked;"I want everybody long Bellies on the close"(he wanted us to buy bellies so he could fade the paper and get out of his distressed longs). Well we looked at each other with sheepish smiles and said things like "Bill, how many cars can you do", etc. Well we SOLD 800 cars (contracts) in the last two minutes putting the market almost down the limit. When he got back up to the office fifteen minutes later he was so infuriated he literally ripped the door to his office off the hinges. So the next time you have the urge to throw the coffee pot at your wife or take an axe to your patio furniture because your so Goddamned mad over a trade, don't worry, it's permissible behavior and been done before. In a final note the Great Michael Steinhardt of Steinhardt Partners has been known to throw chairs threw windows and Jim Cramer has had many a trader have to duck a projectile.
