What is the best way to get broken links fixed? Using the report feature on the post that contains the broken link? How would we know if the link ever got fixed? Or Is it the case that what's broke is broke?
Some things are gone for good but others are fixable, so post the URLs of the pages that contain the broken links and I will check them out.
Hi Baron, the Spydertrader Iterative Refinement thread shows that it has 1269 pages but pages 1247-1269 are appearing empty. Are you able to fix this? https://www.elitetrader.com/et/threads/iterative-refinement.113310/page-1247
I've just been using the report function on posts to notify of broken links. I'll do as you suggest from this point forward. Here are some: 1) https://www.elitetrader.com/et/threads/jack-hershey-and-others.277411/page-2 2) http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=3831321 3) http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=3831320 4) http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=3831320 5) http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=3831328 6) http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=3831333 7) http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=3831334 8) http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=3831336 Thanks so much !!
Unfortunately not. A lot of the older content was imported from a past bulletin board system and there are some random issues that arose from that process like the one you are referring to.
On other bbs forums where a migration occurred, generally the older system was mirrored, archived and still accessible yet not editable. Is that possible with ET's older forum content?
All of the old post content is here. The only issue we've ever had with the archive was with certain attachments not being retrievable during a window of time in 2013.
Ok, good news. I came up with a workaround for this problem so please go to https://www.elitetrader.com/et/threads/jack-hershey-and-others.277411/page-2 and you'll find that all of the links have been updated to the new URL format so they work fine now.
