As far as I know, asians were also pretty discrimnated against for much of early- mid American history. Many of their forefathers were in America on indentured labor, most of them couldnt even speak english. The Chinese exclusion act was in force until the 1940s until Roosevelt did away with it and even then it was a gesture to China fighting alongside us in WW2. What then is the defining difference between the black and the asian experience?
Note the excuse mentality. Chinese were slave laborers on the railroad, all of Korea was enslaved for nearly 20 years by Japan, Japan itself was leveled in 1945, Jews were targeted for extermination- They have all as a people raised themselves up.
Here in my company (which is about 25,000 people world wide) there is an unspoken rule in hiring - hire a diversity candidate when at all possible. Each hiring manager can take that to mean whatever he/she wants, but I know many who take that to mean "take the diversity candidate over the skilled one, if it comes down to that". I don't do that. I give everyone a fair shot regardless of skin color, gender, or whatever. But not everyone does. What irks me on all the articles/news is that, generally, it DOES appear the media goes bonkers in a situation like the zimmerman one, but let's slide so many other issues that fit the same mold, simply because the "color" is on the other side of the equation. That's horseshit. If you want outrage over killing someone, I am the first one in line. But let's bring the outrage on all such issues - not just because it happens to fit the party line of "racism divides".
Interesting, because I cannot recall a single instance of an Asian riot (outside of Tiananmen Square) because of rights or freedom repression. I certainly haven't heard any Asians going nuts over being excluded or prejudiced in some regard. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/5Ns-kXeQCMk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Can't argue that either. One reason why I have not posted to all the Zimmerman threads that cropped up. I do not have all the details. But the state should have Zimmerman face a jury of his peers. As far as minority hirings go, as I said, I have seen this personally. Qualifications need to be taken into account. When I get sick, I will be looking for the best doctor, point blank, the end. AA cannot be filling slots in this kind of work because eventually they will go out and kill somebody. My issue with the right is that they attack welfare. Okay, no worries there, but attack ALL kinds of welfare, not just one subgroup.
RCG, I wish all blacks were like you, I mean that. You might hate me, but at least you would not kill me and you are a productive citizen. You understand that there are opportunities for blacks with motivation, you know the value of training. That's what I want from blacks. You can't understand that, can you? You can't understand that blacks do threaten me either directly through violence or indirectly by being an economic liability, can you?
I am waiting for the all facts, Zimmerman could be lying, I do not know. I agree, I have been consistent on that, ALL welfare needs looking at. Farm subsidies, SSI, SSDI, Medicare, ect. You know though that if I do say something, Jesse Jackson calls me racist?
The world over it's primarily an IQ problem , secondarily it's a cultural problem. Those are the facts , the real INCONVENIENT TRUTH .
