Do Automated Trading Systems Work?

  1. That's a fair answer I think. For the truly curious, it might be preferable to add that the non-working varieties hugely outnumber the former. I reckon the popular magical ratio of 95% to 5% is also applicable to the auto's.

  2. Nononsense, you have the right idea, but the numbers may be 99 to 1. It is a tough proposition to find one that works and then they tend to 'break' after they work for a while!

  3. Yeah, I know but I didn't dear to print the true figures.

    As I am too lazy to trade behind a screen all day long, I figured to get into automation. Oh boy!
    I discovered two things:
    (1) how amazingly dumb and stupid people are without knowing themselves about it while believing themselves smart;
    (2) that it took probably much more work to "find one that works" than to hang behind my ole screen and punch some trading keys.

    I'm also sure that if you found one that "tends to break after it worked for a while", you haven't found the right one yet. Got to work a bit harder.

    :) :cool: nononsense:cool: :)
