MO div was payable to holders as of june 15, payout is july 5. If I buy the stock june 30 and hold for july 5 will I get it? If you sell before the pay date you would not get the div. I am not totally sure of this. thank you
the pay date is not important. you have to own before the ex div date even if its only overnight. once the stock trades ex dividend you can sell it any time and still will be paid on the payment date.
