Display Profiles

  1. In my laptop's Display control panel, I now have a display profile that says "generic pnp monitor". This happened after I attached a 2nd monitor to the laptop. But now my old display profile, the one with the default settings that shipped with the laptop, has disappeared entirely even when I am not using the 2nd monitor. How can I get my old display profile back? Is it stored in a particular file folder?

If you are using Vista go to

    Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Personalization

then click on Adjust Font Size(DPI) then select Default Scale

Its not unsual to lose default scale when using a 2nd monitor on laptop during the first few times - why it happens i guess ask Bill Gates & Co

  3. I still can't solve it. anybody got any ideas? maybe I need to install a new color profile (.icm file)
I just want my factory shipped display settings back

  4. have you removed the second display?
