I have an unusual problem with the display on my monitors. It's kind of hard to explain, but right now I'm looking at a web page, and most of the text is readable, but a lot of the screen choices are blurry. I know 'screen choices' is probably the wrong terminology. Look at the Elitetrader home page; the ad for MBTrading and the icon next to 'Workstation guide' might both be blurry, but the text for the threads would be legible. This happens sometimes on software too; IB's Trader Workstation is often blurry. This comes and goes; it might disappear if I close out of a website and restart it. It happens on both monitors on my main computer (does not happen on my other computer where I have four monitors hooked up). Both monitors are the same model.

Does this sound like a problem with my monitors? Or could it be something else?

Sounds like you might have a problem with your video card. I would first trying uninstalling your video card drivers and reinstalling them. You could also physically remove your video cards from your system and putting them back in to see if it solves the problem.

  3. Yes it sounds like your video card. You can certainly confirm it's not your monitor by swapping a monitor with the other computer. Blurry text is usually a hardware problem and can't usually be fixed with software. One thing you can try is changing the refresh rates displayed. The DAC which is what outputs the signal to the monitor is usually the culprit and lower refresh rates are easier on the DAC, but not as easy on your eyes.

Cheap monitors also tend to be blurry but it sounds too intermittent to be the monitor.

    Good Luck
