What charting pkg has Negatively Displaced MA's that keep up with price? Sierra doesn't, Stategy Runner doesn't, Global Strategy Trader doesn't, and OpenEcry doesn't. The Displaced MA's I'm seeing either stop working after about 4 bars, or won't keep up with price. Anyone using Negatively Displaced MA's? Thanks for any constructive replies. Ian
Displaced MAs can't keep up with price. Worthless in my opinion. You're better off looking at zero-lag MAs or almost-zero-lag MAs, whatever they're calling them these days. Maybe an adaptive MA? Due to the asymmetry of causal filters, there is always going to be a trade-off between lag and smoothing. Just make the best bargain you can find and live with it.
