Disingenuous Romney: 'I wish Obama succeeded', hasn't he been running for 8 years?

Discussion in 'Politics' started by tmarket, Aug 31, 2012.

  1. In his acceptance speech, Romney wished "President Obama had succeeded because I want America to succeed."

Is Romney for real? Has he no shame? He has been running for president the last 8 years and opposing Obama for the last 4 years.

I guessed it is to be expected. This is the same person who wrote in 2008 a New York Times op-ed piece with the headline "Let Detroit Go Bankrupt." and then in May he turned around and said “I’ll take a lot of credit” for the revival of the Detroit companies that went through federally sponsored bankruptcies.

So, you are saying if Romney wins that Democraps should be wanting America to fail for at least the next four years? You are pathetic.

This is just a 1 star thread it is so ridiculous.

  3. I don't know, but I would guess that if Romney does get elected, that the Dems would not come out and say STOP Romeny at all costs, no matter what it does to the Country. Sure, they may not work as closely as they should with Rep's, but I really doubt they would be so blatant in their hatred that McConnell was with Obama.

Ahhh, you have forgotten the dems treatment of Mr. Bush. How convenient.

  6. I don't know if that logic follows, but we do know what the Republican congress thinks as their Senate leader put it:

The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president.

-Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, quoted in National Journal, November 4, 2010

  7. Not at all, and to be serious, no crapola. Bush was criticized harshly by the Dem's, mostly for his wars IMO. And, yes, many Dem's voted for the wars, my memory is intact.

I hated it when Mr. Bush was booed by those in foreign countries, when a President of my Country is abroad, he deserves the respect of a liberator, at least for many European countries. I was against his wars, against Rove and Cheney, and Rummy, but I never stopped respecting the office of President.

Although your thread is about Romney wanting America to succeed even under Obama.

What McConnell has said is mild compared to what demcaps have done to Republican presidents including the Pelosi's attacks on bush.
