No form of democracy is without flaw. No system is guaranteed to work over the long run either. The United States was never founded as a democracy. The constitution makes no mention of it whatsoever. A Constitutional Republic is a better system and the one in which the US was founded on. Over the course of several decades the men pulling the strings have successfully convinced the public that there were only two sides (which are basically the same these days): Republican (conservative) and Democrat (liberal). The most common misconception has been that there are two extreme sides and most people are in the middle. However, political systems would be better understood compared to a volume bar on a stereo. To the extreme right, you have no government (anarchy). To the extreme left, you have totalitarianism. To the right of totalitarianism, you have monarchy, oligarchy, democracy, and then republic. The system currently in place in this country is an oligarchy disguised as a democracy. However, neither system works. The United States government has to be dismantled from the top down. Measures can be taken to help keep it from happening again, but that's no guarantee.
You have a very different view on political concepts than me, but whatever works for you... let us hear your reasoning. Totalitarianism is more of a functional tactic in my view. Anarchy as well. You seem to be absolutely void of any understanding of, and knowledge of, leftist anarchism. ...and what do you mean "democracy does not work?" Please explain yourself.
I don't see how any form of extremism can be a functional tactic, especially anarchy. You seem to be under the impression that anarchy is a lasting form of government. It's not. Anarchy is only temporary. Anarchy has never lasted very long, because people eventually strive for some form of organized government. As far as democracy goes, it does not matter if it's direct democracy or representative democracy, it can't work over the long run because the majority or "common people" can easily be misinformed and lead astray by the media or their leaders. In a true democracy, 51% of the people have control over 49% of the people. In a republic, we are ruled by law and not a majority. The constitution is absolute and never changes. A democracy is worried about pissing off the fewest people possible. In a republic, the written rule does not change based on human emotion.
You are complaining about people with an agenda when you yourself have an agenda. Please quit lecturing about how you know all about political half truths, distortions and corruptions. Your inability to discover what you don't know harshly interrupts your ability to know anything.
Well, I see you have your own set of definitions and won't change them. Of course you also subscribe to "winner takes all" policies - bivalence everywhere etc.
All hail Gringinho, the great purveyor of truth and source all knowledge! I gotta ask, what kind of pompus ass in love with his own intellect comes in here complaining about people with an agenda and/or bias? Everyone has some sort of bias or agenda you moron, and yours is quite obvious.
Mav88, so - my agenda is power for power's sake - just like with Ingsoc... ? "One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship. The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power." I seek personal power through ET - that is your assessment on my "obvious agenda?" How would that power be manifested, might I ask? What "mighty power" might I wield from ET? Hehehe, pretty funny. You know, it's different with someone with political agendas - since they are affecting and influencing elections, perceptions...
you are just pushing your point of view, but with a twist, you take yourself way more seriously than you deserve
So, the issues I address - or rather "the way I address an issue" - is too serious for you? And you think I am a moron for posting about these issues in such a way? What absolute truth am I pushing?
