Discretionary vs. Quantitative

LOL!! Why mess around with anything else, these are real edges.

 

Oppss...I can´t even recall my login details...since the quant debacle last year and the year before, I didn´t want to bother anybody on the board with unpleasant and unwelcomed "critical" questions....six sigma events are simply "too random"

Doesn't it imply that one can do both otherwise how will one effectively choose between them

 

If one achieved success through discretionary trading, he/she may prefer discretionary over quantitative even though he/she never used quantitative trading method at all. And vice versa.

This poll is just to see what most ET posters personally prefer and it does not try to determine which method is better.

I try to be both

( i.e. disc and quant )

but in really simple terms

lately ( esp the last two days )

I just throw the rule book out the window
and try to follow order flow and scent of the grizzly ol whale
