I traded with a group of traders for several years in a ventrilo room. We became and remain good friends but yes, we broke it up because we would get caught up in conversations and technical observations and would miss signals...or second guess them. The company was great, it's up to each to decide if the trade off is worth it.

It's very sad that someone cannot start something good without being criticized for it. I also trade full-time and I agree that it would be nice to have other full-time traders to chat with ... not teach ... just to discuss the day's activities.

This is pretty much why I want to do it. This definitely isn't a place where I would "teach" someone, so much as give opinions and advice. Maybe there is an ES futures dedicated trading room that I'm not aware of. From the looks of it, there really doesn't seem to be.

The only ones that exist are ones where people pay someone, presumably to get advice from an "expert trader". That isn't the focus of the room.

As far as my personal trading, yeah, 40 contracts at one time. But I don't churn my account and may not make a trade for days. This week, even with the volatility, I have traded 2 times, 40 contracts each, and promptly got stopped out for a gain of a few bucks. But the size of what I trade isn't relevant except insofar as it gives you an understanding of one guy's trading style. I have my long term investment accounts and my trading account. Like I wrote earlier, I spend 60 hours a week, researching, and waiting for a right setup. That might result in one trade or several.

Livestreaming my account, except for the voyeur factor of watching the position go up or down a few k in a minute isn't particular fun to watch. It's mostly order flow watching.

Come on by, if you like it, hopefully you'd contribute. It's kind of the groucho marx thing right now, any club that wants to have me as a member, I don't want to belong to.

I was in a group of capable futures traders and would regularly find that the other especially talented trader was nearly always long when I was short etc.

Of course we were usually both right but just in different TFs etc. but it was distracting some days. I left up due to one guy who could not keep his politics and faith stuff out of chats. Made more money but it was good for a year to have a little competition burn.

  7. Out of curiosity I checked it out. There's 744 traders just ONLINE with 0 people in voice and not much viable text going on either. Like do you really use this one and get value out of it?

  9. Fair enough, there's just endless amount of rooms regarding stocks and trading where people text back and forth all day, sitting in a room full of bots. I've found servers like that, where also few to no people participate in voice conversations are generally low quality.

Unfortunately, that's just how most servers are. Very difficult to find people that are actually actively trading, can discuss market action real time at a high level and have any kind of stamina in trading.

i agree.... most people tend to talk a good game, but are not trading. When i am trading, i am totally focused on daytrading and tend to keep to myself. When i'm not trading, i like to discuss trading strategies rather than current market action. I don't like voice channels because I have verbal alerts going off during the day and when i am in trades, my trademanager verbally notifies me when it changes stop levels.

    good luck
