disabling on board video?

Discussion in 'Hardware' started by Jayford, Mar 20, 2008.

  1. OK,

Was thinking of buying a T3400, but have seen some screaming deals on boxes with video on the mobo. I already have a quad card that I am happy with, so I was wondering if I could just disable the on board video so that its like a box with no video at all?

I'd add my quad card (in the correct type of slot of course), and my drivers for this card.

Anyone see any problems? The card is Appian, which is old but works perfectly, but will definitely not match up with any drivers found on a new box; therefor, I will need to nuke them. Will I need to do something with the BIOS also?

    Thanks for any insight,

    Jay

  2. Gnome gave me the answer to this, so no need to respond.
