Stopped out went to .7 pips from take profit then reversed fell for 15.3 back to open note i did say that this way probably a bad as Npot was low MDRR was low w/80% so was expected but gheeze .7 away
next candle one 10 was removed as the 21st was replaced 9 xtreme was removed in its place dropping LSD = 8 and SLD 17 still entrance 9 take 17 stop 9 so MDRR= 9:8 NPOT = 96.6 these are good stats MDRR close to 1 Npot 2x's last candle better chance this round excel attached x marks newest added candle
new chart i forgot to take off old trade lines but look how it went 2 past my stop then took out the take profit ... i hate that new vert. lines are up 15 min before 1300 bar
was a good candle but formed down went to the line and reversed extended down trade not initiated line was at 12 price went to 12.1 i didnt fill ran down
Part of the confusion comes from swapping some LSD's with SLD's without changing the name! I have a better understanding of what you are doing now but some questions still remain. Let me write a description of my understanding and you can point out what is incorrect. 1. Look at the previous 20 (could be variable depending on the instrument traded) bars. 2. Compute the H-O and O-L for each bar. SD=min(H-O,O-L) and LD=max(H-O,O-L). 3. Compute LSD and SLD. LSD=max(SD for previous 20 bars) and SLD=min(LD for last 20 bars). 4. Compute BO Size and Profit Target. BO Size=min(LSD,SLD)+1 and Profit Target=max(LSD,SLD). 5. Test the BO Size and Profit Target on previous 20 bars, if 90% profitable, trade the current bar. I programmed 1-4 into the attached spreadsheet, 5 will require programming a macro. One question is that you are excluding some values from the above calculations but I don't understand your explanation of which to exclude? I don't understand swapping LSD's with SLD's if LSD>SLD, what is the logic behind that rule? Bill
im gonna post only 3 hour charts real trades so i can be real accurate with numbers as 3 hour charts give me more time...
yeah maybe this will help we are measuring bar lengths from open because we need a fixed point and variables. it doesnt much matter what you label it only the points the chance of it hitting distance points matter and how the bar forms.. all of these are equally important. when we are taking the SLD minimum as it is and any LSD > SLD happens we move the LSD to the SLD because the trade from the LSD previous lower point could be a buy point to that higher LSD so the LSD become SLD... hahaha thats confusing even to me.. but the point is the trade could happen in two directions we mark all longs and if the short of a high vol bar > SLD min it could have been a trade made so its a SLD distance point.. i use 21 bars ... 20 ema bars +1 bar profit target = max(lsd, sld) -1 failed trades to 90% knocking off 4th or 3rd STDEV from the data 21 trades *.10 loss rate(1-.9) = 2 trades can be failed remove 2 extremities higher vol. bars create further distances from open both ways trades could have been made in both direction if you had a entry point the SLD min if that was the case meaning the SLD is BO entrance price for the LSD to simplify that mathematically just move em over .
Thanks for sharing your ideas with us. What do you do if the bar closes and neither your take profit nor your stop loss gets hit?
if neither the stop get hit or the take profit and im still in the trade on close... i close the trade as i run stats on bars themselves i trade bars themselves and can say with accuracy the next bar will continue to move
