If you don't like your current job, get out and be happy somewhere else. Why do you want to spend 8-10 hours a day doing something you don't like when you have the opportunity to change that. Can't you rent the house? In 5-10 years it might appreciate again and you will have an investment property in your hands no? You are getting job offers when people are getting laidoff.
