Hi everyone, Right now I have Sierra Charts and Ensign Windows running with the same data feed (IB) and timeframe. The thing is MACD and 200sma have different values most of the time. Has anyone experienced something like this?
You use the same feed and time-frame(of course). Do you also load the same number of days into the programs? Starting the calculation with different days can influence some indicators - especially when using EMAs, which use all the data in a chart. And even when all these parameters are identical - implementations are usually different. The formulas given for indicators are by no means unique - there are different ways to perform the calculations, the calculation may be optimized and even such "trivialities" as different rounding will influence the result. Hence: when you compare indicators do so within one program only, not between different programs. Hth Bernd Kuerbs
