Did Jordan Speith learn his lesson?

  1. Nobody cares about Tony Romo...He's yesterday's news, the guy is a beaten up and broken down QB at this stage of his career...

The guy's entire career has been choking in big moments. Speith shows up in a commercial with him, next thing you know Speith is choking. The whole point is you dont hang around and do commercials with Tony Romo and not expect the stank to rub off on you. It will and did, I witnessed it first hand at the Masters. Lets hope Speith regains his poise, because between him and Jason Day we have the possibility to see some great golf from these young men for the next decade.

  3. You bring superstition to a whole new level...Heck, I'm surprised Jason Day won a major last year...After all, he spent time with Greg Norman, probably shook his hand as well...Norman defined a career with snake bit performances and a collection of monumental choke jobs...You think Spieth was bad, do you have any recollection of Norman in 1996? THAT was a choke job, Spieth had one bad hole, Norman put on a Shakespearean performance over 4+ hours that day.

Imagine ripping on the top US golfer in the world and the 3rd highest rated QB of all time.
    Must be really bored.

Congratulations, after a whole boatload of frivolous posts, we actually have a post that is on topic. Job well done der_kommissar.

The fact of the matter is, Speith shows up in a commercial with Tony Romo, a career choke artist, then goes on to choke at the Masters. It had to be from the Tony Romo stink rubbing off.

Second, Greg Norman was never the overhyped jerk that Tony Romo is. Year in and year out, we get the sports media telling us that Tony Romo is on par with guys like Tom Brady and Peyton Manning which is absolute crap. When the Cowboys built their new stadium, they were supposed to be the first team to play a home Super Bowl because Romo was so great and was going to lead them there. It hasn't stopped either. This year Tony Romo had the best off-season ever according to ESPN. I heard this other ass clown claiming the Cowboys were going 5-0 because of Romo. Its absurd. We have seen this over and over and know how it turns out.

Speith better steer clear of this clown if knows whats good for him.

This is the over-hyping of Tony Romo I am talking about. What the hell are you talking about?

When exactly did I rip on Speith?

Romo has the 3rd highest QBR of all time.
He's a very good QB in spite of his choking.
You have been ripping on Spieth this entire thread.

  9. QB stats never tell the whole story...Case in point...How many QB's that play for a crap team that is always down a couple of scores in the 2nd half will put up pretty spectacular numbers in a pass happy league? The answer is many of them...It's not uncommon to find QB's on the worst teams making 50+ pass attempts a game, racking up a series of 300-400 yd games in a futile attempt to rally their team back each and every game...

The QB's on the winning teams with solid defenses are typically not going to sit exposed in the pocket for 50 pass attempts because they are too valuable to their team in the post-season...In many cases, they will be sitting out 4th quarters during the last third of the season...

    This is bogus.
QBs don't sit the 4th in until week 16 if at all.

Stats are one part of the game.
    And so are wins.
Wins of course mean much more.
If Romo wins a Super Bowl guaranteed he's an HOF candidate.
