Did I expect George Bush to f - - - it up as badly as he did?

  1. It was the remark that Jews were socialists that I took issue with. Not that they are more likely to vote Democratic than Republican. Sorry if I did not make myself more clear. I can see how my remarks may have been murky.

Now, having said this, I will again express my belief (based on my possibly faulty perception), that Jews WILL vote for whatever candidate they feel is most worthy.

I am pretty sure that Reagan carried the Jewish vote in 1984 (not positive). I think Nixon carried the Jewish vote in 1972 as well (also not positive).

I AM positive that the big Jewish donors to the ADL, B'nai Brith, Jewish Federation, Hadassa, United Jewish Appeal, etc., are AT LEAST 50% Republicans..... No surprise there. Wealthier people tend to be more favorable to the Republican Party.

Money buys votes. No secret there. So if 64% of the poor Jews (yes, there is such a thing) vote Democratic, that is not a factor politically (except in NY). What (significant) minority does not vote primarily Democratic?

NY Times is a "commie rag"? Yeah, all the "commie rags" endorsed Ronald Reagan for President. (among other Republicans over the years). LOL!!!!!!! (Bobcathy....c'mon!)

    Peace,

  2. dude, i hate to be the one to tell you this (and maybe it shouldn't come from me since we all know what my political slant is...) but all that stuff about repubs being for capitalism and free markets is complete bullshit.

it's all part of a clever whisper campaign by the GOP to make people THINK and BELIEVE that republicans are for:

    -free markets
    -small govt
    -less spending
    -etc

when in reality, they're corporate welfarists masqerading as capitalists.

  4. OH YEAH, and the biggest part of the GOP whisper campaign is this:

don't believe anything the LIBERAL MEDIA tells you about the world. they're a bunch of pinkos trying to subvert the capitalist government of the US.

unless you hear it straight out of the mouth of any non-liberal media person like o'reilly, hanity or coulter, it's just commie propaganda.

I think you'll find RS that the Jewish vote doesn't break down so much along economic lines as it does among religious lines. Orthodox Jews are much more likely to vote Republican than Reform Jews. I will stand/modify my previous statement on Jewish socialism by saying that there is a sizable number of younger nonreligious Jews who are virtually agnostic and socialistic in ideology. To think that Marx and Trotsky were not at all representative of a larger ethno-political philosophy is naive. Merely look at the Jewish representation in Congress and notice how the Waxman's, Schakowsky's, etal deviate in voting record from the moderate Democratic center in the U.S. House. By contrast, Sen. Joseph Leiberman, an orthodox Jew (and the only Democratic contender for Pres. that I can stand) has an extremely moderate record.

  9. Possibly valid. I couldn't tell you for sure. I will ask some people who are more knowledgeable than me.

I don't know who Waxman is. Do you mean Wexler? Robert Wexler is my congressman (Boca Raton), and someone I know personally. (Not well....he is friendly with my wife's ex-husband, so that sort of puts me in another social camp). He is a Conservative Jew which is not quite Orthodox, but certainly more religious than the majority of American Jews. And certainly he is extremely liberal. He was pretty much the voice of the Dem's side in the House Impeachment hearings for Clinton.

Interesting theory. I will definitely try to get some info if it's there.

Meanwhile, tonight on O'Reilly, Mr. Bill is going after the ADL. I have been seeing the promos on FOX News. They are implying that the ADL is bashing Christmas. I find that a little hard to believe. Abe Foxman I DO know, and I can't picture this at all. Should be interesting.
