Did Anyone Guess YUM Would Blow Up? Its down $20 points now!

Discussion in 'Stocks' started by RabidTrader, Oct 6, 2015.

  1. My BMO account doesn't and I don't care. 9:30AM to 4:00PM EST is plenty of trading time.

How do you "churn" YUM in AH? Everything was normal until about 4:13PM EST then a big drop almost instantly, then relatively flat.

Of course that is going to be the excuse from day 1 of earnings to the last day, CHINA CHINA CHINA....slowdown in china is going to be the excuse they make all earnings season. Don't they all need an excuse as to why earnings are low, blame it all on China while they have the chance....China is slowing down, that 7% GDP figure you see is all make believe, its more like 3-4% but Im not going there right now, It might even be lower since we have nothing but ghost cities and ghost malls being built however for YUM to miss and fall that hard is a true telling sign of whats to come.....

Who doesnt have after hours trading in 2015, I just made a trade AH about an hour ago....

And I'm still wondering why in 2015 the markets only trade for 6.5 hours....this isnt 1972 its 2015, with the technology we have today and how easy it is to trade without the use of humans I say they markets should be open at least 8 hours...

  5. I don't think so. Their main holdings are fast food joints, people have to eat so they must be going elsewhere.

YUM holdings. The ones in bold are the only names I recognize.
    • Banh Shop
    • East Dawning
    • KFC
    • Little Sheep
    • Pizza Hut
    • Super Chix
    • Taco Bell
    • WingStreet

  6. Regarding Spreads, how did this YUM spread trader make money?

Hey OTC, with YUM its been giving us lots of chances to make $.50 to $1.00 since the nasty news happened. Above I explain how I sat back and waited to buy, scaled up and sold out at $70.00 once they bullied it up. Redneck helped me avoid my greedy nature by limiting my thinking that need that need for a Super Gain when the Market providing nice change. He's a great trader I respect, helps keep my brain in check!

S2, I posted a link to a very popular cheap brokerage that's told me back in 2013 that they were going to get AH trading soon! Now they decided its not worth it or did they ever plan on providing after-hours trading or routing. I can't tell you how many nasty orders I've avoided by routing to certain exchanges. Order routing was another thing they said was "just around the corner", it sucks because when you see orders going off on CBOE or AMEX I am willing to pay $.10-$.30 extra per contract to get filled.

  7. At 16:08 if you had 500 shares or more with your Super Discount Broker you could have taken it off the table at $85.00. A nice gain of $1000 no matter how big your account is, it's a great gain! Using ARCA to jump ahead of the Price Point Punchers (PPP) you could have sold out at $84.90 x $85.00 or $84.97 just to be safe and allow the false Market to keep that extra $.03 plus your getting your ECN fees rebated. Some Stupid Brokers use to make you wait for 20 minutes before their AH platform went in to effect, a waste of time since major moves happen before the first 20 minutes of the AH Session.

You had plenty of time once it began to tank to exit without a 13 point loss, that's the benefit of not having a good trading platform like Robert provides all his clients. Robert provides his clients with incredible platforms, the savings on 500 to 2000 shares of YUM would have paid the next five years of your platform and exchange fees!

$20,000 saving by exiting using a Super High Tech Platform by Robert's firm plus all the ECN rebates, even if you don't use a great Broker like Robert, there are plenty of Online Brokerages that have access to AH trading, looking at YUM there was tons of time to exit without losing 10 to 15 points!

  8. OTM, did you read that email I sent that friend who lost his ass last week? The one I wrote on Wed night? It was written in a hurry to him, my grammar was probably tweaked but the point was there. Let me find it and if you don't mind I would like to add it to this exact post, thank's for pointing out the truth how bad things are really happening in China! Always appreciate your posts and ability to see to the giant picture! Your a smart trader my friend!

    Wholly moley

I never trade AH - too much risk

Out - and watched - again - too much risk

I rarely watch the AH..., I do watch PM to identify the buying / selling

The affects are not that long lasting after the open - but every little bit helps create a picture

    ===================

Your recollect is amazing Sir..., I barely remember today's session - let alone individual trades

    Success Sir

  10. I like the thread. Not enough after hours trading topics and earnings season coming fast. Could be quite a few of these misses coming up this time around. I do try to trade after hours but it can get risky. I am, however, learning right here...always trying to learn and keep an open mind

    thanks rabidtrader
