    Thoughts

    A very difficult week’s trading.

Poor entries and exits, I was too jumpy, like the markets.

Well short of my 500 BPS weekly target, missed a few nice trades on BP and BARC because I was watching the miners.

    Stay disciplined.

    Stay focussed.

    Thoughts

A choppy market this week, missed a great BARC long by raising my stop too early – it went from 292 to 316.

    Miners have been fairly volatile.

Well short of my 500 BPS weekly target, but still a modest profit.

I'm posting this at lunchtime on Friday, since I prefer not to trade Friday afternoons...

    Stay disciplined.

    Stay focussed.

    9 stock trades:

    5 BLT + 65.98 BPS

    1 STAN + 49.25 BPS

    1 VOD + 2.60 BPS

    2 XTA + 26.65 BPS

    Stocks net + 144.49 BPS

Long & short trades, all intraday.

    Index trades:

    1 Dax + 2.84 BPS

    Net Total + 147.33 BPS

    P:L Ratio 21:1

    I traded 4 days.

    Thoughts

A fairly quiet market with Europe closed on the 1st for May day

US payrolls on Friday resulted in a very strong rally with both the FTSE & Dax making new 52 week highs. Miners also reversed their recent weakness.

The GLEN/XTA merger went ahead and hence XTA is no more, which is rather sad for me.

Well short of my 500 BPS weekly target, but still a modest profit.

    Stay disciplined.

    Stay focussed.

Summary Week Ended Friday 10th May 2013

    16 stock trades:

    3 BP + 62.33 BPS

    13 STAN - 997.88 BPS

    Stocks net - 935.55 BPS

Long & short trades, intraday & overnight.

    Index trades:

    1 FTSE + 8.15 BPS

    Net total - 927.40 BPS

I traded 4 days, Monday was a bank holiday.

    Thoughts

A really poor week, I was short STAN near the weekly highs, but closed the trade because results were due out the following morning, and there was some strength in the stock. The following morning (Thursday) STAN gapped down from 1700 to 1641.5. I went long for the reversal, which never appeared. It could have been worse I suppose, and fortunately STAN didn't gap down on Friday morning.

Meanwhile, both the FTSE & Dax made new 52 week highs on Friday. The FTSE closed above 6600, last time it did that was Nov 2007.

I will recover from this loss, but it certainly gave my confidence a knock.

    Stay disciplined.

    Stay focussed.

Summary Week Ended Friday 17th May 2013

    13 stock trades:

    6 BLT + 44.78 BPS

    1 BP + 15.09 BPS

    6 STAN - 110.91 BPS

    Stocks net - 51.03 BPS

Long & short trades, all intraday.

    Index trades:

    9 FTSE + 29.87 BPS

    Net total - 21.17 BPS

    I traded 5 days.

    Thoughts

A poor week really, and again STAN cancelled my profits on other stocks and on the FTSE.

Both the FTSE & Dax made new 52 week highs, although this was not reflected in the mining stocks.

A very strong finish to the week, be interesting to see how far this rally can go.

    Stay disciplined.

    Stay focussed.

Long & short trades, all intraday.

    Net total - 466.52 BPS

    I traded 5 days.

    Thoughts

A really poor week, my stock trades made a modest profit, but I traded the FTSE very poorly, shorting a very strong market, and paid the price.

Both the FTSE & Dax made new 52 week highs this week.

    Thoughts

A better week, still well short of my 500 bps weekly target.
