    Thoughts

A difficult week's trading. Choppy markets, although the miners were supported after better than expected Chinese GDP data.
AAL and RIO both issued production reports on Thursday. BLT will do the same next week.
I made a couple of very poor exits, but still a profitable week overall.
Just above my 2.5% weekly target.
Hoping for better results next week.

    Thoughts

A horrible week. Took a hit on a longish term BLT trade on Friday, which I should have dumped weeks ago.. All the losses were the result of just 2 trades on BLT. My intraday trades made a modest profit.

Miners were absolutely trashed this week, the index was down 10% over the week, which is a pretty huge move. Poor data from China didn't help the sector.

Gold fell sharply on Monday, breaking the $1100 level for a while.

I am really not happy with my recent performance, basically being a long side trader, trading during a severe bear market. I can never seem to hold onto shorts, even though in hindsight, in this market it has been the best strategy. Even today, I shorted the early rise on AAL, but trailed down my stop and closed @ 822. Later in the afternoon AAL traded well under 800. I should have been more patient.
Hoping for better results next week.

Another tough week. July has been a very difficult moth for my style of trading.
Over the month, the FTSE mining index (NMX1770) is down more than 10%. In June it fell 12.95%. The slowdown in China has really spooked the mining sector.

Hoping for better results next week.

A better week.. still under my 2.50 % weekly target though.

Outside the markets, I was a bit busy this week after I managed to crash my bicycle and fracture four ribs last weekend... Pain is an inadequate term to describe it.....

Hoping for a lot less pain and better results next week.

    Thoughts

A better week.. Above my 2.50 % weekly target.
A bit of a wild week in the markets, as on Tuesday China devalued its currency by over 2%, and that spooked the equity markets somewhat.
I made a couple of poor exits, when the miners found some strength on Monday afternoon, one of those sessions when the London market does nothing until New York wakes up, then takes off...

    Overall, a very jittery market.
Outside the markets, ribs still very sore, still taking the painkillers.
Hoping for less pain and better results next week.

    Stay disciplined.
    Stay focussed.
    Stay humble.

    Thoughts

    A pretty horrible week.

I bailed out of a swing trade on BLT which I probably should have ditched sooner, since the whole sector, and the equity market in general, saw a big sell off, as can be seen in the weekly changes.
The FTSE was down over 5.5% for the week.
So one trade was responsible for all the losses this week. Resource stocks were particularly badly hit, with crude getting sold off heavily. Gold was actually stronger. I'm not sure how much further this move is going to go. Banks were also very weak, with STAN breaking down below £8, levels it last hit back in 2009.

Hoping for better results next week.

A better week, well above my 2.5% weekly target.
The equity markets were volatile, and I was fairly busy.
Some poor exits but a profit is a profit.
The Fed held the interest rate on Thursday evening, and the markets sold off a bit in response.

Hoping for better results next week.

    Thoughts

A difficult week, well below my 2.5% weekly target.
The equity markets were volatile again, with miners getting badly hit. GLEN traded under a pound, which is pretty amazing given the float price was around £5.
Elsewhere STAN made new lows for the year.. in fact it last traded at these levels back in 2009.
A very difficult market to trade (well for me anyway).

Hoping for better results next week.
