  1. Inandlong: About 2 hours a night looking things over.

TraderKay: Yes, but if it gets more extended i'm happy to profit.
If it pulls back, i'll look for a different trigger. I think the sum net gains have been about $2.5K

  2. Got whipsawed and stopped on a couple of entries:

Bought NFLX at 47.45 stopped out at 46.85, re-entered lon 46.20
    holding net -.10

Stopped out of NTES 42.9 +.10

Stopped out NVEC 40.70 -3.75. This was difficult. I had re-entered this long at 44.45 after 2 separate gains almost worth 6 points and when I checked it it was 43 and change friday afternoon, but sold hard into the close. I don't like stops on this kind of stock because they are almost gauranteed to be hit, and this policy kept me long last week for good gains, however, this trade illustrates the downside.

I normally keep a very tight stop with clear S/R.

Went long ABAX 18.65 +.1.00 holding. I spoke of this on 11/4 and have been keeping an eye on it. Today it broke out.
    Long CEDC 40.67 +.03 holding.
    Shorted LEN intraday for .65

FLML again turned south at the 10 dma, but I did not trade it.

I missed JBLU short today even though I highlighted it last night. It would have been picture perfect. I forgot to set my alert and it passed me by, I had forgotten about it. Shows you what a disorganized schmuck I am.

All the stocks I mentioned previously and others I continue to watch whether they trigger or not. If they dry up then I put them on the back burner and wait until they get active agsin.

  3. I had mentioned this and had been watching it but missed the trigger this morning and passed it up at 39.7 but decided to buy near the close at 40.67. I think this will continue up in the weeks ahead.

  4. This has been strong lately, and now it has pulled back to the 10 dma, where a lot of sharply uptrending stocks have found support in the last several months.

Might hold tomorrow and reverse. We'll see.

  5. THis has slowed in its ascent. Each of the last few legs up has been smaller in % terms and it may be topping out or at a plateau.

As so many stocks that have had extensive moves up have dropped and hard, this one may have a fall ahead of. Maybe a H&S setting up. A break of the longterm trendline might bring some selling in. CELL is up about 2500% since mid 2002 (and down still 60% from its all time highs).

Regarding the selling, there is a lot, and a lot of accumulation in general so the $ appears to be rotating.

  6. How is the overall P&L looking like since u started this journal?

I mean your real P&L not a theoretical one... just trying to see if there really is an edge in this particular thread.

  7. I am up about $2500 since starting the thread.

Starting this week, with trades commenced today, I'll post a recap at the week's end with P&L in an excel spreadsheet, or some other easy to read form.

  8. Sold ABAX in two lots 1/2 at 20.49, 1/2 by a stop at 19.79, net +1.49

Sold CDEC in two odd lots average price 40.78 +.11

Bought FARO 25.31, holding closed at 25.22 -.09
Bought NVLS 42.86, holding, closed at 43.30 +.44

Tried to buy NVEC at 36, where it traded for a fleeting moment, by the time I loaded up the buy order it had gone up 1.25.
That's why I hesitate to use a mechanical stop on this stock.

Got stopped out NFLX at 46 -.19. This seems like it is stabilizing.
If it makes a move one way or another I will consider re-entering. My prior chart posted remains valid.

SFNT triggered short today - actually yesterday but I passed on it because the volume was so weak, but today it sold off well but I did not take the trade, alas. See my prior chart.

    Other things I am considering:

ESPR sold off well and it may attract some renewed buying soon

And acouple in the next posts

  9. THe gap down two weeks back was closed within one week then set off a good short. THe stock has since trade down to its .382 retracement of its July low - where it slingshotted up, to its high in October. Today it bounced off that retracement and I think it is worth watching to see if it resumes upward.

I have a question for the TA savvy: Gap down Oct 22 created an island for the bars 10/9 - 10/21, which was an island reversal.
Was the island negated on 10/30 when the stock traded as high as 57.52 and closed the gap of 10/9, closing all the space created by the first gap? I suppose a purist would say it was negated, although it did exist for a short while. And is it of any consequence?

  10. Is this schizo or what.

THis is why am wary of holding a small cap biotech stock for more than a couple of days. They are so news driven. Potentially good news drives the stock into high gear.

Anyway, this might take a bounce here.
