PS: my 100G database is now 17G after copying Arctic's ideas. So glad you guys are on this thread. There is no way the system would be as high quality without your guys input, even if I am a dick about it sometimes.
Another profitable week. For the first time since I started active trading, I will reward myself by buying myself a new set of bluetooth headphones that can be used while running. Previously, I had these $20 ali baba headphones that survived 5 whole years, and eventually I dropped them one too many times. These were the Voyager probe of headphones as far as I'm concerned. Any recommendations welcome.
OK Nooby, you seem to be too successful and therefore I think it only fair to the reset of us that you build your strategies using this Visual Basic written IB platform https://github.com/rlktradewright/tradebuild-platform from now on
The first application I sold commercially was written in VB6. Don't knock VB6, probably one of the most productive environments for developers ever. So much so that Visual Studio copied it.
Buy vs Build https://www.elitetrader.com/et/threads/trading-options-from-underlying-symbol-strategies.338201 When I started this thread, people were telling me that building my own thing was a dumb idea. They're probably right, let's be honest but this was exactly the type of thing I wanted to avoid. 1. I do the research 2. I do the testing 3. "Oh sorry, we don't support your instrument/data requirement" I didn't even realize so many platforms had issues with trading options as I trade some options. So, firmly convinced on buy vs build to tilt towards build.
Figured I should update this thread with November results. Things are going well. Will do this going forward (updating monthly trading results). The 7 day loss was flat-ish and I usually hold a max of 2 days, if I'm going to hold overnight.
