So 20 years from now when a 100 year old Leslie Stahl interviews him on 60 Minutes, assuming he doesn't win the Presidency in 2024... how will she address him? They always use the highest office achieved it seems. Like poor Rudy... he is and always will be addressed as Mayor Guiliani or Mr Mayor....
I was just wondering what is considered the higher office.... Senator or Governor?

Nikki Haley's another good one, I think she is addressed as Ambassador Haley, but anybody can be an Ambassador right? (queue Tony with a Ukraine joke) Its an appointment. Ambassador sounds cooler... but it takes more effort to become a governor.

Seems like there has to be some kind of formal hierarchy. If Romney sits down in Buckingham Palace for dinner with the Queen with all their pomp and circumstance... whats his placard say? "Mitt"... ?
    Oh well. Inquiring minds...
    (Where's B1... he's a constitutional scholar, he'll know)

The placard would say Romneycare. Which of course was what Obamacare was modeled after.

Patrick? Hell if I can remember what the hell he stood for and accomplished, aside from lowering property taxes for MA residents (which did not happen. Taxes went up.)

Patrick is a failure, and it is a joke he entered the race. A pox on him.

  4. One of many issues that Deval will need to overcome - below.

Deval canned two public officials who tried to get his brother in law on the sex registry for a rape he committed in California. I guess he succeed in doing that but you can see that it is not pretty- especially in the metoo era, so to speak.

Then three years later after he intervened and kept him off the registry, the brother in law was convicted of rape again. The victim this time? Deval's sister.

What a frigging mess. But you know, the dems go out around these issues when it is convenient for them.

  6. Deval Patrick campaigning in South Carolina today or at least meeting with black leaders there.

He is very late to the party- but on the other hand they know that Obama is supporting him and not Joe. So it will be interesting to see how things work out for him there.

Joe has votes there that are not moving and South Carolina is his happy place, and not much is going to change that. But Deval still needs to start getting some visibility with both blacks and whites somewhere. I dunno, he is not campaigning in iowa or nh, so he has to do something somewhere I guess. Unless you are Joe or Bloomberg and think all you have to do is announce.

And then there is the much-touted Pete Booty who I guess sits at the right hand of God now- but we don't even expect him to even think about South Carolina or blacks. Ahhh...okay, I guess. I saw some article yesterday that showed how candidates line up in regard to african-american support and Bootyboy was BELOW Marianne Willamison. Kind of a poor showing if you are sitting at the right hand of god. Might want to have a plan for that. Or maybe if you are up on Mount Olmpus now where he is you do not need to worry about that. womp....womp..

Some crazy campaigns among the dems this time around.

Let’s be clear here, Joe Biden has re-emerged as the lone front runner. Warren is on a downward trajectory. Biden has separated nationally and is dominating state by state. Even where is currently not winning a state he is trailing closely.

State’s Biden is leading (where there is polling):

    Florida (+15)
    North Carolina (+17)
    Texas (+10)
    South Carolina (+19)
    Nevada (+9)

    State’s Warren is leading

    New Hampshire (+2)
    California (+1)

    State’s Buttigieg is leading

    Iowa (+2)

  8. Yes, Biden is overwhelming leading in polls, because dems dont see anyone below- ie. Warren who they can stomach.

So they can't stomach Warren, yet Biden gives them massive panic attacks.

Such is the state of the dem primary.

This weeks plan seems to be to extend Bootyboys fifteen minutes of fame out to a month of fame and then deal with the panic that sets in with that.

What a mess. Food fight at the Convention coming up. If you loved Animal House, then you will love the Convention.

  9. Yeh, well, let's just say Deval got work to do.

Not really though. If his plan is to just get back into government as a VP, Cabinet position, ambassador or whatever, then it is a fairly smart move on his part. That's quite do-able.

Bloomberg keeps telling us that he is running an aggressive campaign because he is buying lots of ads. Ahhh, work on that a bit, eh Mike.

  10. It would be cheaper if he just donated money to the leading candidate and hoped they win to get a position.
