SO I used to run ultra long-distnaces, because I am big and slow. Not that all who do this are big and slow, but regular marathons and such just weren;t so much fun for me as being out in the woods and going 7-8 hours to "train." As I got older I stopped that, and instead walk now - and I'll go out and walk long distances for hours on weekends like that, and I find I get almost the same benefits as running without beating the hell out of my body or my brain (I would get "cloudy" after such runs). I enjoy tango, and I dont need to beat up my joints and posture, and as I said, walking does almost the same things for me. I'll do intervals on a treadmill 3x a week (no traffic or dogs) and get it to where I do a 1/4 mil in 90 seconds at the end, and feel like I am going to blow up. I'm 60, and weigh 225, so that;s pretty good. I'll also do 8-10 slow, perfect chinups every day, during market hours, which clears my head and makes my heart explode. The only supplement take is lipitor. But then, I like to eat. I pretty much eat fresh fruits and vegetables for breakfast and lunch, but for dinner, I usually have two dinners. I'll bet I eat 4,000 calories at dinner. THe only time I wont do this is if I'm out in a group of people, or someone else is paying, etc. But when I go out to eat, Ill order two full dinners. Sometimes overdo it, at Ruth;s last week i had the NY Strip and Porterhouse and I felt rather stuffed afterwards. But it's all worth it.
Lipitor isn't a supplement; it's a statin drug. You MUST take at least 400mg CoQ10 with any statin unless you want cardiomyopathy down the road.
Wrestling is all you need to dominate as long as you have decent hands. It's also insane workout for strength and cardio. How long do you typically rest between sets on Squat/DL/Bench when doing 6x6 heavy to failure?
I tried to go 60 days on keto and I gave in. The friggin' Cinemark movie popcorn with the "butter" station killed me this weekend. I lost quite a bit but my lifts suffered, as well as my 5K split on the erg. I am doing a 2hr on, 24hr off IF. Start at say 10am on day1. Eat from 10-Noon and fast for 24hrs. Day2 you begin eating from Noon-2pm. Day3 from 2-4pm.... day 6 you eat from 8-10 and start the cycle over on day 7. Day seven will not be a 24hr fast. Yesterday was day1 at 10am. Today I ate from Noon to 2pm at 800 sub-maintenance. I am just starting to feel the pangs now and am a bit adrenal. I took a couple valerian and 3mg melatonin. I dropped from 252 to 236 on keto. I weighed in at 232 tonight. It's very hard for me to get under 220 at 6'3ish.
