San Diego. He's been rowing for a couple of months. C2 black rower (low CG). He's mid 7s for the 2K (lightweight). He's better at rowing than running. He's just hit 6'0" at 16yo.
He has to drink a gallon of grass-fed just to maintain the 120lbs. Yes, 120lbs. We just started our garage workouts, so hopefully that will stimulate the appetite. I was giving him two large protein shakes a day before the milk (yuck). Two raw eggs, scoop of grass (fed) whey, Ovaltine, etc. It was difficult for him to hit maintenance cals, but no longer. He eats burgers quite a bit but he's generally uninterested in food; unless it's Cinnabon or Cane's chicken.
Yeah, keep feeding him. He reminds me of myself when I was 16. I was a couple inches shorter, but same thin frame, no fat at all. I didn't have as much upper-body muscle at 16 because I didn't do sports. Did a ton of biking though so my calves/thighs got nice and thick. I'd be a hunk of a man if I had kept up in any athletic way, and it looks like he has a head start. MORE MEAT! lol (He likes Cinnabon? Trick him with a Cinnaburger. Burger with a Cinnabon bun. (I don't know if that is real, just thought of it.))
Yeah, I was 170 at his age so he takes after the wife's family in terms of "lean-ness" and light bones. Wife is 5'9" so he will likely make it to 6'3" or 6'4".
The top 5 NCAA Division 1 rowing schools: Princeton Harvard Yale Columbia U. of Penn Edit.... actually hard to go wrong with any of them. I prefer Ivy however. https://www.ncsasports.org/best-colleges/best-mens-rowing-colleges
Mass is so 1980. Lean and mean is where it’s at, lol. Kidding aside, he is only 16, trust me 120 won’t last much longer.
Hills thanks, but I am two fiddy. You'll know when you have teens (monsters) that they don't necessarily take advice from adults. Perhaps outside the family, who knows. I'll tell him you did bodyweight on snatch.
