He basically took the day off from school. I did the "find my phone" and saw his ping at the SBUX North of school.
Today's events. All times are p-coast: 7:20 SPY: He covered the SPY 231 put fly less than an hour after the open. I haven't looked at the chart but it was a loss of a few bucks. He had told me that he was uncomfortable with the SPY hedge and I didn't help any. 7:26 AMZN: it looks like be bought an embedded fly at 1.48 due to the perceived downside risk on the AMZN condor. 9:36 AMZN: Said goodbye to AMZN at 5.94 to the buy. Good job, Mate. 10:17 AMZN: Closed the hedge fly at 1.55. Told me that he wanted to wait until the add'l funds were in there so he didn't effect a PDT trade. Told him it wouldn't matter. He did hold out for a few bucks profit (gross). 10:32 TSLA: Calendar mentioned earlier. He thinks that the 52 vol-line is a buy. Wanted to get short deltas as well. 12:36 GOOGL: Covered the GOOL condor at 5.18 as he got scared when he stressed it. 12:37 SPY: No further need for the SPY bear vert? 12:40 GOOGL: Bought the GOOG fly to open. His biggest fly debit yet. 12:45 GOOGL: Bought some deltas in GOOGL into the perceived risk?
Hey destriero, isn't the point of a journal so a person can reflect and learn from their trades? Would your son be open to journaling his own thoughts? Or maybe he already is... I think it is a great that he is trading. My daughter just indicated some interest in learning how to trade. Still baby steps tho...
I haven't told him about the journal. I want him to get a few weeks into it or a $-figure before I tell him as I think it would impact his trading to know people are watching. I will definitely send the link to the journal once he's ready.
