People are dying like flies in Florida but desantis doesn't seem to give a shit. Florida records 149,452 new COVID-19 cases, 903 deaths in 2 weeks There were 149,452 new coronavirus cases recorded over the last two weeks among Florida residents, bringing the cumulative total to 6,789,498. With 903 more fatalities on record, 77,565 Florida residents have died. The death total over the last two weeks reflects an increase from the 771 reported in the two weeks before, but deaths can take several days or weeks to be reported. Many newly reported deaths are of people who died before the last two weeks. The number of cases over the last two weeks increased compared to the 146,069 reported in the two weeks before.
It is like Florida is the only state with an elevated level of COVID-19. BS after BS from you guys. You are true masters of shoveling.
Since vaccines were widely available in April of 2021 — Florida leads the U.S. Covid death rate per capita. DeSantis should be proud that he made Florida number 1 in something.
Did you pull this out of your bottom? I spent a minute checking and here we are https://www.statista.com/statistics/1109011/coronavirus-covid19-death-rates-us-by-state/ This is 2022. Florida is totally average. Considering median age statistics https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._states_and_territories_by_median_age, it is just a great result. Thank you, DeSantis for keeping Floridians safe (as safe as possible in this crazy world) without dumb moves made in California, New York, and other liberal strongholds. Sanity prevailed. Why do some people are enjoying spreading lies?
As documented many times previously -- since April 2022 Florida has led all the states in Covid deaths per capita. If Florida counts the over 3000 under-reported Covid deaths outlined in the state Auditor General's report then Florida easily ranks in the top 5 U.S. states for Covid deaths per capita during the entire pandemic. It's amazing that I need to outline the facts over and over again for those too dense to accept reality.
I read it thoroughly. Do you agree that errors always happen in collecting statistics of such a scale? It is an obvious yes for me. Why are you adding 3,000 to the Florida count only? Let's add 15,000 to NY because there are errors there too https://www.nytimes.com/2021/07/14/nyregion/cuomo-coronavirus-deaths-covid.html. Every state is doing errors. It is impossible not to. But you are fixated. You are obsessed with DeSantis and Florida and you keep spreading BS.
Republicans used to be leaders in proper public health policy. They were strong promoters of vaccination for polio and other diseases over the ages. It used to be that the anti-science anti-vax crowd were a small group of left-wing wackos who solely supported naturopathic medicine and other fringe stuff. With Trump (who strangely enough is vaccinated) and the MAGA crowd suddenly the Republicans have become the fringe anti-science anti-vax party which undermines public health while pushing complete disinformation. One thing that mankind should have learned over the ages --- is that nobody should be fucking with or undermining public health when facing a pandemic. Any politician that does so is beneath contempt. Where I sit -- fucking with public health is where the line is drawn. Especially when we have over 1 MILLION Covid deaths in the U.S. and over 250,000 of them were completely preventable.
No, the Republican party is not anti-science anti-vax. It is a party of reason. I am saying it in relative terms because there are plenty of nutjobs there. Saying that the reaction of Democrats on COVID was plain crazy. Look at you.
Not to mention that blocking press at official state events violates Florida law. But DeSantis never cares about the law --- only about abusing the law to further his political ambitions. Ron DeSantis' blocking of legacy media coverage is dangerous for democracy https://www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnbc...y-media-coverage-dangerous-democracy-n1297607
DeSantis to place symbol of violent "patriot" groups on new Florida license plate. And no... it's not inadvertent, he's quite proud of it - "DeSantis meanwhile has claimed on Twitter that the plate is intended to send a clear message to out-of-state cars, “‘Don’t Tread on Me’ or Florida.”" Florida’s new ‘Don’t Tread On Me’ license plate stirs controversy https://www.wfla.com/news/florida/floridas-new-dont-tread-on-me-license-plate-stirs-controversy/
