While we're waiting for Spike to illuminate us with his many years of wisdom, lets have a look at the latest data... Case count would appear to be having a leveling off event, but this is still very early in the game. 7 day MA is stabilizing, with lower highs but since this is merely a representation of "positive cases as reported" and the reporting is all messed up in Florida, we probably shouldn't be using this chart for anything other than an "oh, that's nice." Death count as reported (not as date of death) looking better after a previous spike. But in this case, the 7DMA is still rising. Again, not that this chart actually is representative of reality. This chart is for Sweden, but I post it as an example of what data looks like when you chart deaths on the date that they occur and not on the date that they are reported. As you can see, it tells a very different story. It would in Florida as well (as it would in any other state). And once again, we need to recall Governor DeSantis for the mayhem he is bringing to North Carolina... Georgia (DeSantis has always hated Georgia) Louisiana (it is rumored that DeSantis was fired for a paper route he worked while spending a summer there with his grandma so it is only fitting he work to undermine their Covid situation) And California. I have no idea what DeSantis has to do with California but if you dig deep enough, I'm sure you'll find he is behind the numbers rising here.

There are two new pieces of information in the article that came out with this whistleblower complaint from Rebekah Jones that are of interest: Starting in April the Health Department bosses (appointed by DeSantis) demanded she "falsify statistics, such as what percentage of coronavirus tests showed positive results. DeSantis wanted the state’s public-facing website to show that the percentage of positive tests over two weeks were below 10 percent even if the numbers were higher, she said." Bottom line - this fake data problem started in April and not May. "Jones contacted a supervisor for advice on filing a whistleblower complaint. Shortly afterward, on May 18, the state fired her.' This violates a number of Florida state laws regarding whistleblowers. It is also interesting to note that "Since she has left, the dashboard powered by ArcGIS has been disabled several times, including at least one span of several days.' Apparently Florida is not even capable of maintaining the portal she created for the state. Not that the state portal matters to most of the media at this point; nearly every media source is using the much better data & feeds found at the portal Rebekah Jones created. "Jones has made her own dashboard at FloridaCOVIDAction.com, compiling publicly available data published by the state but digitally scattered around on web pages that are hard for many people to find and understand. She has received $210,000 from donations through GoFundMe to support her work on the site." It is also interesting to note from other press that the sexual harassment charges were dismissed well before DeSantis publicly slut shamed her. I expect this will be documented in a future unjust dismissal suit. However her current suit is solely focused on the whistleblower perspective; she appears to have the facts to back up her complaint. I expect this "shiat-show" is going to be front & center in the press for the rest of the year in Florida. As the facts comes out in the filings it is not going to look good for the DeSantis administration. It is obvious to most rational people at this point that the administration at the direction of DeSantis deliberately had COVID data manipulated and hidden to press his re-open political agenda.
It is important to note that Ms. Jones has made those allegations, but that is all they are at this point. When, if, proof becomes available, it should be released publicly. The dashboard she "maintains" is barely functional, and many times (like right now) doesn't even work. But it has some good links on ICU availability.
For the second straight week, since peaking on the week ending 6/29, the % positive has declined. Please note that this is also considering the fact that many Florida testing facilities were only reporting positive cases (negative cases weren't being reported), something that is currently being investigated state wide. Additionally, there were 618k tests last week, a 22.7% rise from the number of tests the week prior (which will also increase the number of positive cases, obviously). This was a 28.9% rise in the number of tests from the prior week. So the week ending 6/29 there were 55,906 tests a day on average. That jumped the next week to 72,014 a day, and last week jumped to 88,355 tests per day.

I bet many people on here had no idea that many aged 25-64 died due to Covid. That's a lot of people from the "low risk" group Jem keeps talking about. 19.6% of all deaths actually.
