That's rather surprising to me, and I'm originally from Morris County. Where do you find visitation data for NJ? Having grown up in the Garden State, I never thought it much for tourism, outside a few beaches that are long past their prime.
Very rarely do I agree with Ron DeSantis. This is one of those occasions. People should not be allowed to protest outside of private homes. Protestors who do this should be locked up on criminal charges. "New Jersey welcomed 116.2 million visitors to the Garden State in 2019." https://visitnj.org/sites/default/files/2019-nj-economic-impact.pdf
Do you have any post-pandemic numbers? Edit: Found this. New Jersey welcomed 96.6 million visitors in 2021 with visitation growing over 14% from 2020; visitation remained 17% below 2019's record-breaking levels. Visitors spent $37.3 billion in New Jersey in 2021, representing an $8 billion increase from 2020.

As expected, the Florida residents simply re-filed their suit in state court after a federal judge told them the state court was the proper venue. For some reason DeSantis believed that the dismal of the federal suit was some type of big victory and his team endlessly crowed about it. The reality in the big picture is that the dismal of the federal suit is nearly meaningless. Would be interesting to see who comes to NJ for tourism. My guess is folks from PA, NY, and maybe New England. Whereas Florida gets folks from all over the country.
So Ron DeSantis has no plan. Now suddenly he is claiming the state will take over the RCID. Where is he going to get the 1 billion plus dollars from?
