Salt production in Florida is up 63% and the drainage infrastructure is being upgraded to handle the deluge of liberal tears.

"Hey maybe we should publicly oppose the government of the state who grants us epic tax breaks!".... said no sitting board member in a public company on the planet.

The Twitter board will have a little problem justifying their rejection of a buyout offer 20% over the stock price and a really big problem justifying their failure to meet their fiduciary responsibility to seek shareholder value as officers of a publicly held company.

Not sure why Florida is getting involved in that one but it might indicate some national aspirations of Governor DeSantis.

  2. Did you not see what happened in Arizona, why it went blue? Do you not see what's going on in Texas, the moving of tech companies into the state? When Thiel talks about tech moving into Florida, are you that dumb to not understand all this?

It's amazing how Whiteys still think Trump is a Republican. Who do you all think is controlling DeSanty?

What's amazing is how you can begin a rather thought provoking argument and then completely discredit your entire post by throwing out race like you do.

So much "winning" -- DeSantis' persecution of Disney will leave the families of the two counties where the theme park is located with $2,200 special assessments each.

Ron DeSantis plan to go after Disney could massively backfire -- and leave taxpayers footing the bill
    https://www.rawstory.com/disney-desantis/

Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) has laid out as one of his goals for the Florida legislature's special session a bill to abolish the Reedy Creek Improvement District, a special taxing zone that essentially allows the Walt Disney World resort complex to act as its own local government. The move is intended to punish the Disney corporation for criticizing his infamous "Don't Say Gay" law, which limits the ability of teachers to discuss the existence of sexual orientation or gender identity in the classroom.

But according to Mary Ellen Klas of the Miami Herald, there's a bit of a snag in the proposal: abolishing the district involves paying Disney's $2 billion worth of bond debt from building the resorts — and to do that, families in Orange and Osceola Counties would have to pay thousands of dollars.

In other words, this bill intended to punish Disney would actually be a huge transfer of money to the company, at taxpayer expense.

The special district bill, alongside a Republican gerrymandering proposal that would wipe out half the Black congressional districts in the state, come as Republicans escalate a culture war panic nationwide, introducing bills limiting classroom information on race and sexuality, and even seeking to purge books from libraries.

  7. So because Disney criticized him he becomes a giant pussy and wants to attack Disney....an entity that brings hundreds of millions of dollars in tax revenue and tourist dollars into the State.

When did the so called anti cancel culture people become such pussies.... because Disney verbally criticized him haha

Let see... you are angry because Florida won't allow young children to be sexually groomed.

If Disney wants to openly promote homosexuality via their unique communication path with children they might find it difficult to do business in Florida. This is not California.

Florida is a tourist destination and always will be but the state has changed in the last few decades. It seems less reliant on tourism and there is a lot more industry now. I've been amazed at how many hedge funds and financial service firms there are in Palm Beach. There is a great deal of aerospace that has nothing to do with NASA and so is independent of that boom/bust cycle. The place grew up and hit critical mass.

The Disney issue is moot because they will very quickly have new management. They built their reputation painstakingly over a long period of time and so there has been some trust placed in Disney by parents. Current management is setting that trust aflame.

Really. Assuming any of the "Rawstory" stuff is true (we all know how often truth comes from them) you really believe DeSantis will - in an election year no less - pull something that requires families to pay a $2200 assessment just to hit Disney?

    Sheesh. How stupid.

I dunno about any of this, but Disney had some nice tax and environmental breaks. Its a bit like kicking a sleeping dog. If you've got a good deal, why would you draw attention to yourself?

Don't believe everything you read - especially in "RawStory".
