Louisiana GOP official arrested for taping children's mouths shut at his Christian school

According to the Lafayette Daily Advertiser, Rev. John Raymond, a Louisiana Republican Party official and pastor, has been arrested on charges of child cruelty following reports that he taped children's mouths shut at a Christian school he runs.

"Raymond is headmaster of the non-denominational Lakeside Christian School in Slidell," reported Greg Hilburn. "'Our students are encouraged to walk daily with Christ as they grow in maturity and stature surrounded by a dedicated, nurturing faculty,' Lakeside's website describes the school. But WWL reported three students and their parents said the children were brought by Raymond to his office, where the children's mouths were closed with packing tape that wrapped around their heads."

According to the report, the tape was a punishment for children who talk too much in class.

"WWL's report said the children were sent back to class with the tape wrapped around their heads and mouths for 45 minutes 'until another school administrator began feeling uncomfortable about the situation and used scissors to remove the tape,'" Hillburn continued, noting that the children complained of pain and trouble breathing.

Gay b c thing is still not taught in schools. Let it go.

Some, if not all, of those pre k/teachers should be fired because they are crossing a line. Assuming what they are saying is factual representations of the truth.

Actually many of these clips are paid actors claiming they are pre-K teachers in film clips being created & funded by right-wing organizations. The entire situation where right-wing organizations create fake clips so they can complain about them on social media has reached the height of absurdity in the past few weeks. I guess they are trying to copy how the Russians operate.

It is developing as educators investigate the identification of the individuals in these videos and find out they do not work in the schools they claim and are not even educators. Some of the information can be found in the Twitter comments. I will post more info as it is revealed.

Let me say that federal standards for pre-K to grade 3 education pretty much say you should not talk about sexuality and gender identity. This is not appropriate subject matter for young students. I do not support teaching young children about information not appropriate for their age, but It is disturbing that elementary school teachers are being tarred with the brush of teaching inappropriate material by a string of videos which are quickly being determined as fakes.

  10. DeSantis faith advisor dismissed from church leadership after past history of ‘sexual sin’ as a teacher

A member of the Florida Governor’s Faith and Community-Based Initiative was recently dismissed from his role as a deacon of Clearwater’s Calvary Church after it was revealed he had a history of sexual misconduct when he was a teacher.

Rev. Willy Rice told his congregation in a video that the deacon was stepping down over a past that involved “sexual sin that could also be described as abusive,” Religion News Service reports.

“Religion News Service has confirmed that the former deacon is Jeff Ford, the executive director of Man Up and Go, a Christian nonprofit in the U.S. and overseas whose Authentic Masculinity Program ‘teaches men how to be protectors of and providers for their families,’ according to the biography of Ford posted on the website of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. According to that website, Ford is a member of the state’s Faith-Based and Community-Based Advisory Council.”

DeSantis established the Governor’s Faith and Community-Based Initiative in 2019.
