So much "winning"... Florida joins California, Texas in passing 70,000 coronavirus deaths https://www.wptv.com/coronavirus/florida-joins-california-texas-in-passing-70-000-coronavirus-deaths
Considering the three states are the three most populous, its amazing Florida held out so long! Well done!
Considering that Texas and California both have much greater populations than Florida and only have around 85,000 deaths currently. This cannot be called a win. For instance, California has about double the population of Florida -- you would expect CA to have 140,000 Covid deaths in a linear situation. Instead California (as of 2/24) has under 85,000 Covid deaths -- which sadly demonstrates just how poor the Covid public health response in Florida was.
Deaths per 1M pop, as of Worldometers today. Texas is 27, Cali is 40. So in regards to them, Florida is the worst in deaths per 1M pop. But there are 17 states ahead of Florida. And Florida has more seniors as a % of their population than Texas, California or anywhere else other than Maine. So yeah, its a win. Oh, and Florida didn't do anything to kill their economy, didn't force people to wear masks everywhere, didn't lock down but the one month before DeSantis realized what a farce it was, and has been leading the freedom from COVID tyranny charge the whole time. Considering all of that, its a win. If you were correct about all of that, Florida would have been the worst of the worst.
Just so I'm clear, you want to judge Florida only on April of 2021? If I answer, do I then get to pick the next window so I can make my point look better? Like...lets talk from April 4, 2020 at 3:30PM to April 29th at noon? What a joke.
Let's try since April of 2021 -- which means April of 2021 and later. Tell me what the results look like. Hint: Florida is a real "winner" I thought DeSantis liked "winning".
And why is since April 2021 relevant to anyone other than pushing a narrative you like? Why do we have to ignore everything else?
While I'm waiting on GWB to answer the question on why a random month in time is all we need to consider, this was a giggle.
