And again, this makes total sense. If you're asymptomatic, there's no reason to rush out and get a test.

Of course, people of The Religion™ of Science™ won't like it.

Of course not. DeSantis Derangement Syndrome is all consuming.

    Has Ron had his booster?
Why hasn't Ron shown himself during Christmas week?
What is Ron having for breakfast?

GWB_NPC, could you help this individual? Surely you must have contacts...DeSantis must be hoarding all the MAB in NC.

This post from "South Florida Trophy Wife" is laughable -- she constantly promotes material with tags #DontFauciMyFlorida #FloridaFree #TeamOmicron while being a PROUD #DeSantistanian while a history of not even believing Covid is serious. Suddenly she needs guidance for how to get monoclonal antibody treatment for someone located in another state. Amusing.

Fortunately some of the replies gave here proper guidance. In North Carolina you must see your primary care physician as the first step in getting monoclonal antibody treatment. Your physician will evaluate you and get you signed up at one of the centers providing the treatment if medically appropriate. Of course -- at noted before -- only one of the three existing antibody treatments; Sotrovimab is effective against Omicron which accounts for over 95% of the cases in the U.S. currently. Across the U.S. Sotrovimab is in short supply.

But Regeneron Ron in Florida can feel free to demand that his state be allowed to purchase $1B worth of Regeneron to help out his hedge fund buddies. Of course, it is useless for treating Omicron but he never mentions this.

so are you saying there is plentiful MAB in North Carolina? Because I think that was the only point. The rest is your DDS flaring up.

As noted earlier Sotrovimab is in short supply across the nation.

I have a neighbor who is getting monoclonal anti-body treatment today -- so if you follow the correct path you can certainly get this treatment in N.C. -- despite short supplies of Sotrovimab.

So she's correct, then? This South Florida Trophy Wife? there's a shortage?

All of your yammering was for naught?

Her statement that “none is to be had in NC “ is clearly false. Her “dear friend” needs to go through the proper process in our state. Laughable why would someone like this Twitter user who does not even believe Covid is a real threat need to be begging for monoclonal antibody treatment for someone when Covid is nothing more than a cold.

"None to be had" is obviously the situation her friend is experiencing. And considering the shortage, it is quite believable that there is a hard time getting them - which you, yourself admitted with a shortage. And since you claim your neighbor has access, I was right to ask if you had some contacts!

You'd be better served with whining more about other things DeSantis related (maybe you should check your google bot on the Miami herald, they surely have a daily article you can spam) than taking people at their literal word (while at the same time refusing to be taken at your literal word).

    You're a small man.

Unlike Regeneron Ron we did not open walk-in monoclonal antibody treatment centers all over the state. Many of these centers in Florida are in inappropriate locations such as libraries and schools which were never designed to be medical facilities with the proper level of safety & cleanliness for intravenous types of treatments. Coupled with the the reality that monoclonal antibody treatments are only appropriate for some patients, not for every yahoo who walks in the door -- in fact this treatment may cause medical complications (e.g. severe allergic reactions) in some who it is not appropriate for. But... hey ... if your Regeneron Ron killing or hurting a bunch more of his constituents to make his hedge fund buddies rich then obviously it is not really an ethical concern. Whatever -- I guess pushing expensive treatments is much better for him than pushing proper prevention via low cost vaccination.

In North Carolina we require a proper medical referral for monoclonal antibody treatment -- either it must come from your primary physician or a hospital that admitted you. After a proper referral you will be prioritized and queued for monoclonal antibody treatment which is done at a proper medical facility (typically a hospital or urgent care clinic) which is designed to provide these types of treatments. We also have a state phone number to contact for monoclonal antibody treatment information which is broadcast regularly (1-877-332-6585) to assist people who do not have a health care provider or doctor.
