The bottom line If your main life goal is to avoid getting Covid, Today the best location for that is to move to Florida
Yeah... no one ever said that.... best place would be an island somewhere islotaed and no one wants that.
I never believed that Florida was the best place to be for Covid. What I've been arguing since the inception of this thread was that Florida has the best balance for the equation - an equation that had to have both Covid and Economics in it. Where the Covid Religious Fanatics go wrong each and every time is they think this is only about COVID and nothing else. Its not. If you judged Florida vs. other locales based only on COVID results, it would be near dead last. But you can't do that. You have to judge all locales in how they balanced the COVID variables with the rest of the population's life, livelihood, freedoms and abilities to make a living. Then Florida comes out on top - which is why people are moving here more than ever before, visiting here at levels we haven't seen in forever, and why DeSantis' popularity is so high in his home state. And that is why the people who only judge on COVID variables are so pissed off. They know this deep down inside and to admit DeSantis is right is to admit they were wrong, or duped. You'll never see people admit that.
Funny, I hadn't even seen this - NC had its latest wave and there was almost no hype about it. I guess since DeSantis wasn't there and the gov is a democrat, there's nothing to report.
Our governor was holding press conferences at least twice a week warning people to get vaccinated and the need to use masks and socially distance to address Delta. At pointed out many times… the results in N.C. during recent months are much better than Florida during the Delta surge.
And NC still had a similar case spike as to last time. Its almost like press conferences warning people to get vaccinated didn't change the virus trajectory at all from when vaccines were scarce. Hmm... scIEnCE!
Guess you don't understand that Delta is three times more infectious than the original Covid strain. Without vaccination and proper public health policies the cases, hospitalizations and deaths would be much higher in the recent wave. You know... looking like the Florida graphs and not the graphs of states which are more successful over recent months.
DeSantis wins loses again... Even his own legislature is getting tired of his crap. DeSantis wanted to get tough on employer vaccine mandates. Legislators reined him in https://www.miamiherald.com/news/politics-government/state-politics/article255764176.html
Once again the data in DeSantis' Florida is completely unreliable and tainted -- to the point of being near meaningless when it comes to Covid vaccinations, cases, hospitalizations, and deaths. Every week the Feds attempt to sort out the fake data the state feeds them. Florida reports unprecedented 1.1 million new COVID-19 vaccinations, offers no explanation https://www.palmbeachpost.com/story...million-new-covid-19-vaccinations/6385822001/
