Let's see what the smug unhinged "America's Frontline Doctor" that DeSantis hired as state Surgeon General is up to... and this is what he does to people whose vote he is seeking for his confirmation. Florida Surgeon General Refuses to Don Mask in Cancer-Suffering Senator’s Office https://www.thedailybeast.com/flori...k-in-cancer-suffering-sen-tina-polskys-office When Florida’s new surgeon general met with a state senator this week, he was seeking her vote for his confirmation. She ended up ejecting him from her office. Joseph Ladapo, an erstwhile proponent of hydroxychloroquine appointed by Gov. Ron DeSantis, refused to cover his face at Tina Polsky’s request. Polsky was diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer in August and is slated to start radiation next week, so Ladapo’s refusal made her “really uncomfortable,” she said. The surgeon general has questioned the efficacy of coronavirus vaccines. When Polsky asked Ladapo whether there was a reason he couldn’t wear a mask, “He just smiles and doesn’t answer. He’s very smug,” she said. “And I told him several times, ‘I have this very serious medical condition.’ And he said, ‘That’s OK,’ like it basically has nothing to do with what we are talking about.” Polsky asked that Ladapo leave, and he agreed. According to his own office, he said as he walked out, “Sometimes I try to reason with unreasonable people for fun.”
58,000 Dead, and Depraved DeSantis Is Just Getting Started https://www.thedailybeast.com/ron-d...vid-on-his-watch-and-hes-just-getting-started
Shrieking and drama from GWB_NPC. Florida is the third most populous state, and has the third highest total death toll. And since they are #9 in deaths per 1M pop (even before the North goes through the winter), that means they did a better than average job at managing it. They are under indexed.
Just a reminder about reality... Florida had nation’s worst COVID-19 death rate during summer surge https://floridapolitics.com/archive...orst-covid-19-death-rate-during-summer-surge/ The delta variant-driven summer surge of 2021 was deadlier in Florida than in any other state. The latest federal COVID-19 reports covering the period since June 20 — which roughly coincided with the time the summer surge began — shows that more people have since been reported to have died of the disease in Florida than in any other state. Florida’s per-capita rate of reported COVID-19 deaths also has been higher than any other state in the period, which covers though Oct. 6. Florida’s COVID-19 summer surge appears to be largely over, as the number of new confirmed cases has been plummeting for more than a month, and the number of deaths have been falling for a couple of weeks. The same is mostly true nationally, though some states are seeing increases in their COVID-19 numbers. Most epidemiologists expect that cold states will see their surges peak during colder weather. For now, as case and death numbers fall back toward where they were in June, before the summer surge began, the mortality toll of the disease’s summer outbreak in Florida is coming into clear focus. More people were reported to have died in Florida since June 20 than in any other state — more than Texas, California, or Arizona. Even when Florida’s large population is factored in, Florida’s per-capita death rate was worse than all other states’, including smaller southern states that suffered harsh summer surges, such as Louisiana and Arkansas.
And here's your reality reminder: Florida had its summer wave because it has summer waves. The North does not. So comparing Florida during their summer wave when other states don't...well, lets just say there's your narrative. Again.
The Delta wave has already finished and declined in all the states except for seven. And most of those not declining yet are rural red states like Alaska. The higher vaccination rates and proper public health practices in California and other blue states protected them against Delta much better than Florida and Texas. Unless a new infectious variant shows up there will not be a large deadly winter Covid wave in northern blue states.
Ron DeSantis Planning $5K Bonus for Unvaccinated Police to Relocate to Florid Another win for RoDe Good veteran officers are available Figuring that the vaccine does not prevent getting Covid and the vaccine does not prevent passing Covid And probably many officers already had Covid...this program is a risk worth taking
