I appreciate you looking into this. Good job with the data set. The bottom line from my perspective they faster we raise the vaccination rate then the sooner we can return to normal and get out of this mess.
No worries. If I am wrong, I will certainly say so. I disagree with your vaccination assessment, as more and more variants will make the vaccination require boosters and annual shots (like the flu). We will only be out of this mess when we accept it as a part of life, and isolate and protect and vaccinate those at risk, while letting those who aren't build herd immunity. Like we did every other time there was any other outbreak.
While I still hold out hope that Covid fades away next year... I suspect that the vaccinated but sick will be producing some nasty variants for years to come. True... the high risk unvaccinated are a big risk too... but harshly they are likely to die off or get healthy and build longer term immunity. 2. Natural herd immunity is very important and if boosters are hit or miss like flu shots... Natural Herd immunity in the low risk may be our only defense. Our moron governor have to realize locking down the low risk is dangerous as it may crush immunity.
As I dig more into the data, something funky is going on. Removing the all ages data actually lowers the NYC one vax %.
