All I said is that DeSantis is not identifyiong the vulnerable in that July 2021 press conference, he was calling for eveyrone to get vaccinated. You told me what he meant perhaps earlier in the year but I was quoting exactly what he just said now calling for everyone to get vaccinated..
Of course, DeSantis’ base hated him for saying anything that promotes vaccination. “Sellout”: Anti-vax conservatives come for DeSantis July 26,2021 https://www.politico.com/states/flo...i-vax-conservatives-come-for-desantis-1389008 Of course the headline 3 days later reads… DeSantis stops pushing Covid-19 vaccines as virus skyrocket in Florida July 29,2021 https://www.orlandosentinel.com/pol...0210729-pc2xtoiiivcw3ftqhfx5yi24vi-story.html
No, you had to make a snarky comment to pick a fight: I said exactly what DeSantis' position is/was. If you want to have a conversation or discussion, lets do it. If you want to pick an argument, well then we'll have an argument.
So once again let's discuss what you refused to address earlier on. Across the U.S. over 97% of cases are unvaccinated. Over 99% of people in the hospital for COVID are unvaccinated. Approximately 50% of the people in Florida are fully vaccinated (loosely). We would expect the number of cases this summer to be 50% of last summer --- since it is the unvaccinated people showing up in a huge majority of cases and hospitalizations. Explain to us why the number of cases and hospitalization in Florida are not HALF of the numbers last summer -- as one would expect. I can understand the death rate being lower since the majority of the unvaccinated hospitalized this summer are younger & healthier. Plus the 50% vaccinated in the Florida reduces the overall number of deaths. Since deaths lag hospitalizations by approximately six weeks and 8% currently of those hospitalized in the U.S. with COVID die -- the current trend of rising hospitalizations is not good. Furthermore I would note -- according to the CDC figures the Florida deaths are increasing with recent jumps this week of over 300 per day. I can agree with the assertion that summer months in Florida are the "indoor season" where there will be higher COVID spread - hence summer should expect a peak in Florida. However it is not possible to reconcile why the numbers this year are not half of what they were last summer. And since they are not half why your governor is not taking action to stop the spread, publish the daily data, and address this as a significant public health problem.
I am not making any argument, I just said DeSantis is now pushing vaccinations. You said the message was always to push it for the most vulnerable (months ago) and that message has not changed. I put up what he said a few weeks ago where he was no longer making any distinction about vulnerable but telling ALL people to get vaccinated. Where exactly is the fight/argument when I simply corrected that he is not just talking about the vulnerable population but EVERYONE now. I just think you are defensive when someone mentions DeSantis....which is funny because I said something good about him pushing vaccines and you still went to defend him haha.
Yet more idle threats from this clown... Draconian "I will withhold salaries of school boards that require masks" slinks away to become "School boards will have to dock their own salaries." Death Peninsula Gov. is not very good at this. Florida's DeSantis concedes he can't actually cut the salaries of school officials who issue mask requirements https://theweek.com/ron-desantis/10...s-he-cant-actually-cut-the-salaries-of-school Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis softens school board threats. It will be on them to cut their own pay https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/f...ll-be-on-them-to-cut-their-own-pay/ar-AANg1LT
