You really should study the spread from Sturgis and educate yourself.

We already read the bullshit article about sturgis.
That one was complete garbage based on a ridiculous model.
It was the worst kind of Covid fear bullshit.

The reality is the spread was .09%

I'm not sure what you're arguing about. Are you saying there wouldn't be virus spread from such an event? If that is what you are saying, I don't know how you can say that.

No... I am not saying that.

I am saying the moron used a san diego state model to pretend there were hundreds of thousands of cases caused by Strugis.

But, the reality is there we only a few hundred positives... and at the time I read they were mostly asymptomatic. I think I read one biker died. (if I recall from what I read at the time)

Ah, I wasn't aware of what "model" he used.

At the end of the day, any large gathering is going to have a heightened effect of virus spreading. COVID, Flu, whatever. That's been going on since humans were on the planet.

The question is what is the risk. And for most people, the answer is - minimal.

seriously... another one of the dumbest things you have promoted as real. Fake lefty science... its disgusting.

you are such a moron... that is based on a model from some morons at San Diego State University.

"The state of South Dakota has attributed 124 cases in the state to the rally. The Associated Press reported that at least 290 people in 12 states who attended the rally have also tested positive. Taken together, that's an infection rate of 0.09%. "

It's likely based on contact tracing (I didn't read the article, and I don't plan to - the narrative is so obvious at this point). Which, of course, asks the question "Hey, do you know of anyone who has been at Sturgis" and if they have been around them or someone who has (who knows how many removed) and then assumes that since they got COVID, it came from someone who was at the rally. Because there's simply no way to know where the hell the virus was transmitted.

GWB, remember when you first started obsessing about DeSantis and his "hiding of data" - way back when this thread was just getting started - my response was something like "I'm sure every governor tries to show data in the best light", and you told me that DeSantis was the only one with data issues?

Then we found out about Cuomo's issues?

    And now...Michigan?

to be clear, I don't care about NY or Michigan. But I'm sure if every governor's office was looked at as closely and with as much scrutiny as DeSantis has been since the beginning, that "irregularities" and "anomalies" would be discovered. Fraud? Who knows. Most likely incompetency and a pandemic system that was never fully tested and poorly managed everywhere.

I have followed the nursing home situation in Michigan. At this point in time - the prosecutor in Michigan pushing that Gov. Gretchen Whitmer should be prosecuted is a same Republican character who was pushing to remove her from office earlier. The claims about Michigan hiding nursing home deaths made in The Federalist article are questionable and have been refuted by local media in the state who provide a factual accounting of events related to nursing home orders. I will wait to see how the Mackinac Center Legal Foundation's lawsuit to require the MDHHS to comply with a Freedom of Information Act request to release data on nursing homes turns out -- according to local media most of the information was released over time previously. I will wait and see how this situation turns out -- if it turns out the governor of Michigan is hiding COVID data then I will criticize her in he same manner I have criticized DeSantis and Cuomo.
