Texas and Florida are illustrating what stupid selfish sons of bitches the democrats in Control of California are.

Now... with just a few weeks of school left some of the San Diego area public high schools are circulating emails about re opening for some in person classes.

Such political b.s. to try and save Newsom from defeat.
    Its ridiculous.

While private schools have been open for in person learning for months.

    Lockdown Scumbags...

We have had 11 days on the snow in the last 30...

I got to use my Jones Mind Expander... in a few feet of powder...
More fun than humans should be allowed to have. "

Interesting to see that CVS and other pharmacies announced today that they would only follow Federal policy for COVID vaccinations and would not follow Florida policy. They announced they would be vaccinating teachers and school workers of any age immediately in Florida and every state where they are located.

I don't see anything wrong with that. They most likely have a corporate policy given they span so many states and the best decision is to follow one federal guideline. I'd have made the same call were I in management in those companies.

I doubt its political. Its just far easier to manage.

Publix is mainly in Florida (has stores in a few other states, but the vast majority are in FL). So they'll align with Florida.

  5. Things will be fine as long as there is not an outbreak or surge in elderly deaths among elderly who have not been vaccinated. I am pretty sure that DeSantis will be willing to give Joe credit for that. Maybe Joe can ask Cuomo how those discussions go. That's win/win for DeSantis. He gets to have vaccinations for teachers to keep that opening on track or stay on track and not have to splain to the elderly why they are waiting longer for theirs due to younger teachers and the like getting portions of the supply.

Be careful Joe. You are not all that smart.

Hillsborough County health officials have determined that official events held around Super Bowl 55 resulted in 57 total COVID-19 cases, despite the thousands of fans who traveled to Tampa to attends the game and surrounding events.

In a press conference that was streamed on WFLA, a local NBC affiliate, Hillsborough County chief epidemiologist Michael Wiese said there were 53 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state of Florida linked to the Super Bowl, while four out-of-state cases were tracked to the event.

Wiese did say, however, that the county saw an increase in the positivity rate in the weeks following the game.

This information, along with the low numbers that were reported, really leads to the conclusion that transmission that was occurring after the Super Bowl was the family get-togethers, the house-hold parties, the bars and restaurants that had unofficial gatherings and events associated with the Super Bowl," Wiese said. "While we didn’t really have a lot that was associated directly with the Super Bowl, we do know that the community kind of celebrated and got together in response to the events, which did show some increase in the transmission during the weeks afterward."

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Kansas City Chiefs, 31-9 in the game on February 7.

Rob Higgins, executive director of the Tampa Bay Sports Commission, said events that would have normally been scheduled to be held indoors were relocated to outdoor events, where masking and social distancing was enforced.

“The Super Bowl was not a super-spreader,” Higgins said.

Hillsborough County Health Officials are very left leaning. If there was a way to tie the Super bowl to COVID, they'd have done so in earnest.

"DeSantis for the win" - Lying about his administration arranging vaccinations for wealthy enclaves edition.

Hospital system contradicts DeSantis on COVID vaccine delivery to luxury Keys enclave

Baptist Health on Friday disputed Gov. Ron DeSantis’ claim that his administration had nothing to do with the decision to send 1,200 COVID vaccine doses to Ocean Reef Club, the luxury Key Largo community at the center of controversy over whether the wealthy received privileged access to vaccines.

The governor made the claim at a news conference Thursday, when he slammed a Miami Herald report that claimed the state provided special access to vaccines to an enclave that contained many wealthy campaign donors.
