"DeSantis for the win" -- Florida is better off without a vaccination plan so I can vaccinate my donors first. (crack pipe image goes here) Florida is better off without a detailed vaccination plan, DeSantis says The governor and a top Hernando County lawmaker defend the rollout so far. “What other states are getting wrong, I believe that this governor is getting right.” https://www.tampabay.com/news/healt...ut-a-detailed-vaccination-plan-desantis-says/ Gov. Ron DeSantis and Hernando County’s top Republican lawmaker defended Florida’s coronavirus vaccine rollout on Wednesday, saying the state is a national leader in the effort and touting the lack of a detailed plan as a plus. “We are approaching this pandemic in ways that other states are not,” state Rep. Blaise Ingoglia said at a news conference in Brooksville where DeSantis announced a new vaccination site for seniors 65 and older. “What other states are getting wrong, I believe that this governor is getting right.” Two things make Florida stand out when it comes to the vaccine rollout: It’s one of only two states to prioritize residents 65 and older in its first phase of distribution, and it’s the only state that hasn’t told residents specifically who will get vaccines after that group. On Tuesday, the governor suggested that teachers and law enforcement officers 50 and older will get access to shots next. But he offered no additional details, using the words “probably” and “I think” to describe who would be eligible. Facing questions Wednesday from reporters, DeSantis said details about shots for teachers and police won’t be announced until next week. He did not answer a question about Florida’s lack of a comprehensive distribution plan. Instead, he touted the state’s rate of vaccination for seniors and criticized other states for updating their plans over time. “If you notice, a lot of those (states) adopted plans, and then they’ve already had to change the plans,” DeSantis said. “We haven’t done that.” Ingoglia praised DeSantis for prioritizing seniors and making sure they get shots, saying that other states have started following his lead. As of this week, Florida had vaccinated nearly 2 million of its residents ages 65 and older, state data shows. About 75 percent of the 2.7 million shots administered in the state had gone to that group. Other groups identified as priorities for vaccination by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention — like essential workers and people younger than 65 who have underlying medical conditions that make them vulnerable to COVID-19 — are still waiting not just on shots, but on clear information about when they might receive them.
Except that isn't what he said at all. The quote seems to have been: “If you notice, a lot of those (states) adopted plans, and then they’ve already had to change the plans,” DeSantis said. “We haven’t done that.” So unless you have a source backing the "Florida is better off without a detailed vaccination plan, DeSantis says" or even more ridiculous, your donor quote, you're just peddling misinformation once again. And, of course, narrative.
Hard to change a plan when Florida doesn't have one. So you support DeSantis pushing pop-up vaccination clinics in communities where the developer and residents donated heavily to him.... even to the extent of having other GOP officials who support him making up lists of who is to get vaccinated (noting the list only included register Republicans).
"GOP Governor donates his donors and wealthy supporters first." “THIS DISGUSTING REPROBATE MUST ANSWER FOR THESE HEINOUS CRIMES” (Corrected that for you.)
Yeah, I support it. Because I don't agree with your assessment about it being about who donated to him, but about where the elderly are concentrated. So as long as he is prioritizing the elderly (against recommended guidelines, I might add) then I'm good with it. Yep.
Thank you for making it very clear that you support political corruption in Florida. Hosting vaccination events where doses are only provided to people on a VIP list of GOP donors and supporters in a designated neighborhood is the most sordid form of political corruption. Florida has a lengthy history of political corruption. It only thrives with the support of people like you who excuse this behavior. Of course the VIP list put together by Manatee Commissioner Vanessa Baugh has now been widely leaked to the press. The list strictly includes wealthy Republican developers, donors, and supporters. Some people who do not even live in the county were invited to get vaccinated. Not to be ignored that several people on the Manatte County VIP list appear to be under 65. Imagine holding a vaccination event limited to a wealthy sub-division where not a single registered Democrat or Independent gets vaccinated -- we are now seeing multiple examples of this type of politically oriented pop-up vaccination event connected to DeSantis. Nothing more than raw political corruption. Manatee commissioner Vanessa Baugh created vaccine priority list that included herself and donor https://www.heraldtribune.com/story...on-covid-19-vaccine-priority-list/6798274002/
Except that isn't what I said at all. I don't support political corruption anywhere, and it should always be dealt with when encountered. I believe I also already said that the Manatee commissioner should be investigated, didn't I? Yes. Yes, I did: I'm talking about tying this corruption to DeSantis, like you are trying to do. As usual, you're making shit up as you go.
So who requested that these pop-up vaccination clinics be set up? Let's go to a previous article in this thread. "Neal has said DeSantis contacted him about setting up the pop-up clinic." These clinics are directly tied to DeSantis. After all he showed up to give speeches at them. Ignoring this obvious connection only serves to support political corruption in Florida.
Looks like DeSantis has his scapegoat now. The FBI should've been on this weeks ago as we warned, let's see how much longer it takes them.
