I think “booming” is a rather general macroeconomic descriptor. I don’t knock Florida in general - other than the water tends to smell awful - I’m just saying doing a sort of cost benefit analysis the economic upside of lesser restrictions doesn’t seemingly translate to much of an obvious economic gain.

Id hypothesize lower infection rates and higher the vaccination rates would translate to greater economic gains.

Booming is a subjective term. So if you want to argue subjectivity, we can. Or we can discuss actual numbers. Saying the water smells awful is also subjective, though in that regards I can tend to agree with you - though it depends on what water you are talking about.

I think your hypothesis is correct by and large - lower infection and higher vaccination rates would translate to better economic gains - especially in a state like Florida that relies on tourism (theme parks, hotels, etc) as people would be more comfortable.

So I don't argue with any of that.

But to get back to booming, real estate is positively INSANE right now here, as an example. People are getting three to four offers on their houses - well over ask price - and in some cases "sight unseen". Lots of offers coming from San Fran (CA as a whole) and the northern states. IF things were so bad in Florida, why would all these people want to stay? Why would so many want to move here?

Real estate is insane now in many places -- not just in Florida. It is insane in North Carolina as well.

Trying to use the real estate market as a "barometer" of why "Florida is better" is idiotic.

I get that this is a real hard time on you. I understand, though I don't sympathize with your pain - you put yourself here. I'm calling out one metric, not using it as the barometer. I understand you want to grasp to any possible prayer to show how Florida is being run into the ground by DeSantis. Really, I do.

North Carolina is also experiencing a massive influx of people from the north. In terms of real estate, Texas is too. So too are a few other states like Tennessee.

But back to the point (which you seem to want to intentionally overlook each time we talk) with such a great response to COVID and such an excellent mind on the economy, and despite one of the largest groups of elderly and a hospitality/tourism based economy, Florida's COVID stats are spectacular when it comes to the elderly, better than half the country when it comes to deaths and cases, and its unemployment gains are substantial compared to lockdown paradises like California, New York and Illinois (among other places). So is its GDP.

Never did I say it was #1 in any of these. Never did I say it was at the top economically. All these are fabricated comments from you, in your attempt to make Florida look as bad as possible because of your seething hate for its governor.

Would he prefer that Florida elected the guy found incoherent in a hotel room with an overdosed male prostitute and a pile of meth?

Florida got very very lucky in a close election.

Yeah... let's see what "little Trump" has been up to recently... Remember -- don't criticize thin-skinned, narcissistic dictator-want-to-be's.

But you are too busy worshiping DeSantis to see his incredible policy failures and faults.

Im really not overlooking what DeSantis is doing down in Florida, especially with nursing homes and a high elderly population. I’m actually very interested, as I have said before. I like to see different approaches but I also like a fair analysis.

no, I'm too busy living my life and watching the numbers for COVID and the economy - and going outside, having my kid go to school, and generally experiencing an excellent Florida winter - to concern myself with your rags and ragging, your hating and your conspiracies.

    From your silly article:

    CHIEF CRITIC
"We ask why we think there is a racism problem perceived in Manatee County? This adds to that argument," Servia said. "You’re taking the whitest and richest demographic in Manatee County and putting them ahead of everyone else."
Manatee county is like 85% white. The whole county - there aren't areas of minorities really anywhere. Its the county directly south of where I live. And there are very, very few areas that are "rich". LOL
