Gaetz, a Republican who represents Florida's 1st district, said he is "proud" of DeSantis and implied the Biden Administration is attempting to disparage the governor in anticipation of his potential candidacy in 2024. "What Ron DeSantis didn't say, which is the truth, is that the Biden folks know that if Donald Trump is not the candidate in 2024, the leader of our movement will be Ron DeSantis," Gaetz told Fox. He's clearly being pushed as a potential. I have no idea if he has a prayer with the machine and the Narrative against him, and part of me doesn't want him to leave Florida! But you can see the positioning going that way on the ground. Expect attacks from the media and its lapdogs (re: people like you) to intensify. In fact, the more they intensify the more we will know he is on the right path. As for the "next Trump", this is just silly. The guy is far more charismatic and amiable than Trump, and not a loose cannon. Someone the GOP can get behind. And if he has to run against a Biden or a Harris, it should be relatively contrast.
Well coupled with a thin-skin that does not accept any criticism, a focus on his personal alternate reality, the rejection of facts & hiding of data that supports the truth, firing & attacks on anyone who disputes him, a lukewarm IQ, with a narcissistic tendency ..... yeah DeSantis has many of the aspects of Trump -- except he lacks the necessary bluster, trolling ability, and inability to build a true following among a crowd of raving Trump supporters. As a "mainstream" GOP candidate he might have a chance... but the GOP is now all about Trump... there would need to be a significant shift to bring it back to traditional Republican ideals at this point. As a "mainstream" Republican candidate DeSantis would hardly stand out among a crowd of very similar politicians -- many of the others have much longer political careers and better connections. The funny point about all of this.... is that any candidate being pushed as a potential 2024 candidate for President at this point -- is just opening up for being a target for brutal attacks from Trump. At this point, Trump believes anyone pimped as running in 2024 is pissing on his lawn.

Just DeSantis pushing his own alternate reality once again. Let's look at the facts... Florida is the WORST state statistically with the new COVID variants. Florida accounts for more than a third of all cases in the country of the B-117 variant, the highly infectious so-called UK strain. The levels are much higher in Florida than any other state in the U.S. Of course as noted in the quoted post - DeSantis' administration in Florida has once again refused to share the COVID data on new strains -- attempting to minimize the reality of the situation in Florida.
This guy DeSantis looks like the kind of guy who would lose the 2024 election no matter whom he was running against. He just has that look to him. I hope he isn't what the Republicans come up with in 2024.

First, please provide the data that shows all states with infections from the magical, mystical, deadly B-117 variant so we can see just how "bad" Florida is. Second, do you have mortality data on the catastrophical, end-of-the-world B-117 variant? I'm assuming that it is more deadly, right? Third, because Florida is a tourist state, I'm sure it has all sorts of variants from people traveling in. However, unless people are dying more from it (they aren't), then who gives a shit?
