Once again -- I have urged everyone to read the AP article and follow the links to resources to make their own decisions about the situation in California. And no... California in this article is not being accused of being less transparent than DeSantis with the raw data. Go read the article and figure out for yourself. The issue outlined in the article is the messaging from the CA politicians is out of sync with the data. For example - California Health and Human Services Secretary Dr. Mark Ghaly this week cited slowing hospital and skilled nursing home admissions and lower positivity and transmission rates as “rays of hope” for overburdened hospitals. Yet the data model that he has repeatedly pointed to as key to planning among an array on the state’s website still shows hospitalizations bumping up over the next month, though projections flatten more each day. You can find ALL the data from California on the state websites -- and the COVID data in California is reviewed by multiple university medical research departments. This is not true for Florida.

You should encourage "everyone" to read the article so they can see for themselves. They might not have seen that you posted that. Every time. Meanwhile, we get it. There are reasons the problems in other states are not the governor's fault. Good, solid reasons. Fair reasons. But in Florida, DeSantis is the devil.
If DeSantis did not hide the raw data while promoting his policy points then reasonable people would not take him to task for his Trump-style misinformation. If DeSantis was transparent with the raw data including the federal government reports ... and then decided to implement policy that went against the recommendations with a reasonable explanation of why --- then people would applaud him (possibly) for his "bold" decisions. But the reality is that DeSantis has behaved like a little Trump wanna-be and appears to have the same narcissistic tendencies as the former president.
Right, right. This is essentially the heart of it. Once DeSantis came out in support of Trump early on, everyone who hated Trump automatically hated DeSantis and never forgave him for that. So now, the kind reporting they show folks on the left - the forgiveness for errors, the overlooking of problems, the silence when anything negative comes up - all that is out there in the open with a pile on attitude when it comes to DeSantis. Like I said, when others do stuff to criticize, there's a valid reason. When it's DeSantis, its corruption. We got ya pegged, GWB. 49 states having issues with vaccine rollouts - no matter. It's not their fault. its a larger issue. But Florida? DeSantis! DeSantis! I notice you had no comment on the Publix response I provided several days ago. You went silent again. Data is your kryptonite.
Sadly you are stuck on DeSantis being your hero. In your eyes he can do no wrong. He could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody --- and still you would support him. The problem is leadership matters. DeSantis displays nearly all the faults of Trump as a leader -- and Trump has been a disaster for the U.S. DeSantis refuses to follow science or facts --- and prefers to create his own political fantasy narrative. As a foundation -- it is critical that state and local governments are fully transparent with data in a public health crisis. Governors and other officials must not manipulate or hide data for political purposes. This is one of the very foundations for people having trust in government. I would not criticize DeSantis if he was fully honest with the data but decided to make policy decisions to keep businesses, etc. open in context of realistic data and facts. However hiding data and spouting a bunch of falsehoods on everything from masks to positivity rate -- to support his political agenda -- is unacceptable.
There's the Trump reference again, proving my earlier point. And again, the Trump. Governors of all states "manipulate" data. They do it all the time. Economical data, public health data, popularity data, etc. They're politicians and they'll show data in the light that makes them look good - like all politicians. Spin, if you will. DeSantis is no better or worse than the group. Sure you would. You hate the guy, always have. There's hundreds of pages in this thread that prove exactly that. Many instances where you've been proven to be flat out wrong. Hasn't stopped you from continuing to shoot from the hip.

10 Months of attacking Florida and DeSantis and your claims and projections look absolutely ridiculous now. The results are in, you were completely wrong.
