Deaths per million people and Florida is in 17th place. Whats your point? Why are you picking on Florida?
DeFascist his having his gestapo goons hold people at gunpoint to intimidate them for disagreeing with him. What's your point? Florida has the oldest percentage of at-risk people over the age of 65 in the U.S. The COVID fiasco Florida has experienced and the next few months hold was easily preventable -- except the DeSantis administration did everything possible to undermine proper public health policy. So once again -- you stated I was a liar -- Answer the question: Does Florida currently have over 1 Million reported COVID cases? Yes or No. If you fail to answer once again I can only assume that it is an admission that Florida does indeed have over 1 Million COVID cases and I am perfectly correct.
CNN makes a very good point. The state government emergency management system in Florida is an internal system. It would require that an Florida employee login through their external firewall with appropriate authentication and have authorization as a user for the state government emergency management system which is limited to a few people. Rebekah Jones lost her credentials and access to state systems when she was terminated from her job. It is very unlikely that she hacked into the state system through a firewall and security infrastructure using two factor authentication and obtained access to send a message out on the state government emergency management system which she never had access to at any point in her career. If DeSantis did this... and Jones did not break any laws... such as stealing info she had no rights too.. Then DeSantis is a bad as Gov. Benito Newsom in my book. Worse... actually because he went after one person.
I’m interested in if this lady was acting as a journalist. I know she is a former government employee on the health side but I’m not sure if the details.
In my opinion.... they are looking for a current Florida government employee or contractor who entered the message on the internal emergency broadcast system..... and they are trying to find proof that Rebekah Jones corresponded with this current employee or contractor by seizing her computer equipment. We will see what happens over the next few days as this further develops...
While DeFascist his having his gestapo goons hold people at gunpoint to intimidate them for disagreeing with him --- people in Florida are dying due to his misinformation, hiding of data, and poor policy. White House COVID-19 Report to Florida Issues Urgent Warnings to Combat Virus https://www.baynews9.com/fl/tampa/n...vid-19-transparency-has--let-floridians-down- Florida remains in the red zone, with rising cases, test positivity and elevated hospitalizations, according to the November 29 White House Coronavirus Task Force weekly report. “We are in a very dangerous place due to the current, extremely high COVID baseline and limited hospital capacity,” the November 29 report says. Immediately following the Thanksgiving holiday, 93% of all Florida counties experienced moderate or high levels of community transmission, the November 29 report said. The state remains in the red zone for its high rate of new cases per capita, ranking 36th in the nation, up from the 37th slot the previous week. The state also is up to the 33rd highest rate of positivity, after ranking 37th in the November 22 report. The Task force’s final November report showed the state had a 5% increase in cases and an 11% spike in deaths. “If you are over 65 or have significant health conditions, you should not enter any indoor public spaces where anyone is unmasked due to the immediate risk to your health; you should have groceries and medication delivered,” the November 29 report said. The document recommends those under the age of 40 to assume they’ve become infected during the Thanksgiving holiday if they traveled beyond their immediate household. The Task force report, obtained from a government source by Spectrum News, is sent directly to Gov. Ron DeSantis every Sunday. However, his office has failed to make those reports public or release any of them since October. Spectrum News has requested and is waiting on reports for November 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 and December 6. The Governor’s office has not responded to any public records request since November 20. “In Florida, we have in our constitution, government in the sunshine requirements that requires elected officials to share public information,” said Rep. Kathy Castor (D) Florida 14th District. “Governor DeSantis' hands off approach to coronavirus has really let Floridians down," she said in a Zoom interview with Spectrum News. "We need accurate, up to date information." The November 29 document showed a minimal change in total hospitalization from the week prior. Between November 21-27, the average number of COVID-19 patients who were admitted to Florida hospitals each day was 900. That’s a slight increase from the 883 admitted the previous week. However, the report warned, “a further post-Thanksgiving surge will compromise COVID patient care as well as medical care overall.” “We as elected officials have to take all the inputs. Yes, we are having a nationwide spike in cases, but we are also having a spike in suicide rates,” said Rep. Michael Waltz (R) Florida 6th District. Waltz, who recently recovered from the virus himself, is supportive of the governor’s approach. “I fully agree with the governor that lockdowns are not the answer like we are seeing in California and other states,” Waltz said. The document continues to stress the importance of masks, social distancing and rapid proactive testing for those who aren’t experiencing symptoms. “If state and local policies do not reflect the seriousness of the current situation, all public health officials must alert the state population directly,” the Task force writes in the November 29 report. “Scientists need to understand what’s truly happening and we can’t just measure progress from how many patients are in emergency rooms and hospitals,” Castor added. The real impact of gathering and traveling during the Thanksgiving holiday is not reflected in the Nov. 29 report. Experts believe those results will be evident in reports released over the next couple of weeks.
DeSantis Aide Quits Over Florida Covid Policy And Police Raid Of Data Scientist https://www.forbes.com/sites/nichol...olice-raid-of-data-scientist/?sh=6416dd84318d Florida state official who described himself as a “DeSantis political appointee” sent the governor his resignation letter Tuesday, decrying the “reckless” way he said the state has handled the Covid-19 pandemic, while calling the armed police raid of former state data scientist Rebekah Jones the final straw in continuing to work for state government. Key Facts Ronald J. Filipkowski, the vice chairman of the state’s 12th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission, announced his resignation Tuesday, saying “I believe the policy of this state towards Covid is reckless and irresponsible.” Filipkowski, a former Republican who now identifies as independent, said the raid of Jones’ home meant the state’s Covid response was no longer just confined to the medical sphere, saying it “has made the issue now a legal one.” Jones, who created the state’s first Covid dashboard and was fired in May for refusing to manipulate state statistics,, said that on Monday morning, state police went into her home and “pointed guns at my kids” during a raid as part of an investigation into someone from her home allegedly gaining access to a state communication platform. Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) has claimed through a spokesman that he did not have knowledge of the raid, and his office did not immediately return a request for comment from Forbes on Filipkowski’s resignation. “I no longer wish to serve the current government of Florida in any capacity,” Filipkowski said. Key Background DeSantis has continually rejected the opinion of top public health experts that say the state’s restrictions are far too loose and likely lead to increased coronavirus spread. Florida is by far the largest state allowing restaurants and bars to open at 100% capacity, while also being by far the largest state without a statewide mask mandate. In fact, there are no public mask mandates in Florida that can actively be enforced, since DeSantis signed an executive order forbidding fines for violating Covid guidelines. DeSantis has also resisted pleas from local officials who have asked for the authority to enforce tighter restrictions. Big Number 1,065,785. That’s how many total coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Florida, according to the state. Only two other states—California and Texas—have confirmed more than 1 million cases. Tangent Last month, DeSantis hired 40-year-old Kyle Lamb, an Ohio-based Uber driver and sports blogger, as a state data analyst. Democrats slammed the move by calling Lamb an “unqualified conspiracy theorist,” citing his continuous conspiratorial tweets about the Covid-19 pandemic. More information is coming out -- from the Tampa Bay Times article linked below. Her lawyers are claiming that DeSantis administration seized her computer equipment to undermine her lawsuit against the state. Her lawyer, Lawrence Walters, called the state’s claim that she accessed the state email system “baseless.” He said the raid “could be retaliation” for Jones’ public defiance against her former employer and said the state’s seizure of her computers could be an attempt to undermine her lawsuit. “Access to our confidential and privileged information shouldn’t be used by our adversaries in a litigation,’' he said. “It’s extremely rare. It’s close to unprecedented, and it’s dangerous for the judicial system.” One item to note is how faulty Florida's "security" for their internal system is... "Once they are no longer associated with ESF8 they are no longer authorized to access the multi-user group," the FDLE affidavit said. All authorized users use the same user name and password." Note that the emergency information broadcast system this is nothing more than an email mailing list... In an affidavit signed by FDLE investigator Noel Pratt on Dec. 3, he concluded the email message was sent to approximately 1,750 accounts before it was discovered. Pratt said in the affidavit that he tracked down the IP address of the computer associated with the email and it directed him to Jones’ home address, which he said was probable cause to conduct a search of her property and seize her computers. https://www.tampabay.com/news/healt...e-seize-computer-of-covid-data-whistleblower/ Rebekah Jones, before she was terminated, was a recipient on this email list which included all the recipients on the To: line (all 1750 plus) rather than using BCC. Someone noted that it is more likely Rebekah Jones (if she had any involvement) probably had a copy of an old email and simply emailed a bulk message to everyone on the list. In this situation "technically" the department/staff are part of a "emergency messaging system" distribution list. There is no law against bulk emailing public officials. Everyone on the "emergency messaging system" distribution list has a known public Florida government (state or local) email address.
