Geometry fact: After “rounding the corner” four times, you’re back where you started. Funny. Just gotta laugh at the insanity of the whole thing and the sheeple that believe the nonsense being spewed daily outta Tallahassee and Washington.
Or C. do a lockdown, one more time, that actually works (with enforcement behind it) - like most of Asia has done.
In theory... I agree. In reality we will never have lockdown which will extinguish the virus. We had so much virus coming across the border even the NY Times did a story on it. They acted like it was lot of Americans coming back... but if you dug into the real story it was plenty of foreign nationals. Now... I am not in favor of turning sick away at the border. But, I am not in favor of lockdowns doomed to failure either. If we are going to cause all the damage a lockdown does... it has to designed to be as short and and effective as possible without running the risk of economic collapse. Closed borders has to be the first step to extinguishing the virus. Yeah I knows its mean a morally questionable. Its deadly... the press will show people dying at the border. I don't think our politicians have the stomach for it. So let us not even think about doing another lockdown doomed to failure.
That really sounds like the proper approach except this country was founded on keeping the Government from doing stupid crap just like that. Tis’ why China’s communist, heavy handed government control, send you to re-education camp methods will not work.
Of course its not going to happen. What with wingnuts - right and left ready to pounce. And that is why we will muddle along for years with 100's of thousands more paying the price. No matter Chumpie's vaccine program Operation Warp(ed Mind) err Speed.
Actually this thread is about the following: Is it acceptable for a government administration to hide, manipulate and be less than transparent with public health data in the midst of a global pandemic in order to drive a political agenda of an elected executive official. Either you believe: A) The very foundational basis of public trust is built on transparent health data -- and hiding, manipulating or being less than transparent with data is fundamentally unacceptable. -- or -- B) It is perfectly acceptable for a governor's administration to be less than transparent with data to drive his political agenda.
And on that note but on a national level: The Trump Administration Shut a Vaccine Safety Office Last Year. What's the Plan Now? https://news.yahoo.com/trump-administration-shut-vaccine-safety-135346950.html
Part of the problem is the lack of educating-the-public by the authorities; and the publics' lack of an ability to properly educate itself. It's about not overrunning healthcare resources. We don't want a situation where your relative has fallen, and hit their head, or has had a car accident, or other medical emergency; but can't get treatment because hospitals are overrun with covidiot patients, and patients infected by covidiots. Blame the shutdowns on your buddies that don't want to wear masks, distance, nor wash their nasty hands.
And then there the matter of the education of the guy at the top ... with the bought and paid for Wharton School of Business BA. Bankrupt Azzhole who thinks he is smarter than everyone else, not a good role model/"moral" leader in a pandemic.
